Agreed, Still don't understand how the technology works and if it would work for most win32 apps, but I think this a great compromise by Microsoft for those who do not want to rewrite their applications. And who knows maybe in the future as the UWP technology matures, people will start adopting the technology.

I'm here. ?????? Ended up on the Surface Book forum by mistake and now I want a Surface Book.

I wonder if they are giving away the core i5 or the i7 variant... (athough I'll gladly take any one of them :excited: )

I know the keyboard is the same material used for surface tablets. Do those get dirty and if so, can you clean them? Just curious!

I have a Dell XPS 13 but I think I'd rather have this laptop. One feature I like is that when you close the laptop the battery doesn't drain. I can't tell you how many times my Dell's battery is dead after one day of not using it at full charge.

Will the Surface Laptop really last 14.5 hours? Or is that on like the lowest brightness setting while only surfing the web?

It is a great thing from WindowsCentral, that they are always looking for great things for us.

Since they seem to be slowing down in other form factors this could take the surface Brand farther than the 2-in-1 or Studios alike, because they can upgrade it every year and not even make a dent in other OEMs marketshare, also keeping an eye there so no one fall sleep making lower quality hardware.
Where i fail to understand their logic is looking this side by side with surface book. There's NO way one would need one if you have the other, and the surface book is a greater laptop than the Surface laptop would ever be (except with the Price, the book is way too expensive).
