Surface Pro 2 doesn't recognize Band

When I plug my Surface charger into the USB port on my Surface Pro 2, nothing happens. There is no indication on the MeTile that it is charging.

When I launch Microsoft Band Sync and log in with my Microsoft account, it says "Your Microsoft Band is not connected," even though it is connected. When I try to install and set up Unband, it says I need to plug in my Band, even though it is attached.

The USB port works fine for everything else I have connected, including Lumia 1020, Logitech Unifying Receiver, and assorted Flash Drives.

It never has recognized my Band since I purchased it in early Jan.

What gives?

I get my band soon I will test it on my surface pro 3

Just got my band on Tuesday and tried connecting it via USB to my Surface Pro 2, didn't work, "USB Device Not Recognized." Seems to be a major issue, and Microsoft knows about it too.

I've had this issue (USB Device Not Recognized) for several months (January?). The not recognized message pops on several Windows boxes (Both 8.1 and 10). On a Mac no error message appears but it will not connect.
