Just wondering as I have seen a couple on ebay for less than ?300 with the i5 processor or should I save a little longer and get sp3 or even sp4 when(if) announced

SP3 is a better bet as it will soon come down in price and likely to handle Windows 10 a bit better. Good luck with your search.

Why would it handle Windows 10 better? They both have an i5 processor. You can get the Pro 2 for cheap and I like the smaller form factor. I already have a 17" laptop. I wish they made a 10" as thin as the pro 3.

There's zero reason why the SP3 would handle Windows 10 better.

They're almost the same specs and hardware. Same CPU line (both have Haswell; though SP3 offers i7 which isn't really much of a step up, especially with the throttling issues), same graphics, same complement of ports, same networking.

The only significant differences are display panel (12" vs 10.6"), kickstand, and pen (arguably inferior to the SP2 pen which is WACOM and doesn't need batteries like the SP3 pen does).

If you can get one with at least 128 GB for that price and is not terribly scratched or damaged then go for it. I've bought mine (new but without pen and charger) for a bit over ?400 a couple of weeks ago after many attempts to get it cheaper on eBay auctions. I personally don't like the SP3's size, and its slightly better pen (which I have no use for) and marginally better weight are not worth the extra ?200 (and that's only for the 64 GB i3 model). The battery life is pretty much the same. The SP4 is likely to be very expensive in its early days, so if you don't mind paying ?700+ and waiting until October-December then perhaps that might be the better option.

Thanks to everyone for the help and have decided to go for sp2 as size and weight don't bother me too much
