Surface Pro 2017 - what's with the sleep function?

Every time I try to "put my Surface to sleep", it behaves more like it was just locked, instead of actually sleeping. The wake process is immediate (I assume this is normal with the new Intel functions), and the battery is draining like it was just standing by fully turned on, with the device heating considerably if put inside a bag.

Is this ANOTHER release of the damned "hot bag" syndrome, or is it something else?

I actually have a bit of the opposite problem. Mine appears to fully shut down at takes about 10-12 seconds to come up every time

Mine's fine but I did do a 100% clean install from a Windows 10 USB iso extract etc. You can also dive into the advanced power functions, to set timers, as windows sometimes can ignore the new power options.

Reinstalled battery drivers under Device Manager as per Reddit suggestions, and the CS draw now is about 0,5% per 30 mins, so the issue seems fixed.
