Surface Pro 3 Booting Stuck at Surface Logo

I searched for solution to this problem but all the suggestions given didn't work for me. I pressed the power button and the volume key upward but each time I was prompted to provide a password and the account password provided was always rejected. For over a week now, my surface Pro 3 has been freezing at the surface logo stage while in the process of booting. I always have to force shut it down and power it on again before it finally booted completely
