Hi everyone, just received the WDA for connecting my SP3 running Windows10 to my TV. For some reason the audio refuses to play through the TV when connected and just continues to play through my SP3 ( it shows up in playback devices but i cannot make it the default device ), also the feed is very jittery and pixelated at times, it also sometimes randomly drops connection.

When i connect with my Android phone it seems to work fine.

It worked fine on my TV the first few uses but seems to have gone to **** now, any feedback would be great - Adam

I didn't even know there was a wireless display adapter lol. I had been using the hdmi adapter but I stopped for the same reason. It wouldn't use the TV audio. Disappointing to hear the same problem is happening with the wireless one.

I decided to do a reset on windows 10 (the one that deletes files aswell pretty much resulting in a fresh install) and the problem has resolved itself (for now), it was only two days ago i did a reset to fix a windows store issue i was having so it will be interesting to see if it bugs out again. I have to say when the Wireless Adapter is working it really is fantastic, the lag is extremely minimal and definately worth a purchase for any SP3 owners wanting to connect up to their TV - Adam

Well the issue has returned, now its a process of elimination as to what I have installed that may be causing it. The sound now plays through the tv but the picture/sound is choppy as fxck - Adam

if the image/audio is choppy, it COULD be related to your wifi. perhaps get closer to the TV, change the location of the wireless adaptor to see if that helps.

did you do the firmware update to the wireless display adaptor? there is an app in the windows store for this function and to change the name etc.

Thanks for the feedback zei20t, ive had the surface right next to the adapter and tried both in various locations, i have also updated the firmware.

I've done another reset and its working again now, I'm going to have to only install one thing at a time to diagnose this problem - Adam

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I upgraded to Windows 10 a week or so after it became available and never thought to test out the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. I'm at work but ran downstairs and hooked everything up, my Surface Pro 3 did the new device install and then connected right away with no issues. I played a video on youtube and it played fine but it did seem slightly choppy but that may be due to being on an open wifi connection; the sound was not choppy at all. I have minimal programs on my SP3, VPN, Photoshop, Lighroom and Microsoft Office and some movies. Before went downstairs I checked for updates and there was one from 9-15 so I installed those and restarted the SP3 then did the test with the Microsoft WDA. Maybe it is an app you have installed that is interfering with it? Hope you are able to get it sorted out.
