What will happen if I leave the stylus off the Pro 4? will the pen go dead faster as it's not connected to the tablet?
In other words what turns on the pen?

I am wanting to leave it off and in my carry bag.

The pen has a battery....that turns it on.

so if I leave it off the tablet it will think it is on and drain it's batteries correct?

The pen goes to sleep unless your using it. You don't need to worry about the battery if you are not using the pen. It lasts up to a year or something like that. Unless you plan to leave in a damp place for years without using it and letting the batteries corrode like in an old flashlight, you dont have anything to fear.
