I have an interesting situation. So right now I am still rocking an Early 2011 MacBook Pro. It has served me well. It went through 5 or 6 Mac OSs, upgraded the HDD to SSD, bumped up the RAM from 4 to 8 GB, and I even installed the Windows 10 Insider Preview (currently upgraded to the public release). I am thinking of possibly switching back to Windows since I will be coding a lot.

A little about me: I am a Sophomore in college who is Double Majoring in Business Administration and Management Information Systems. I don't know if I would consider myself as a power user, but the most intense programs I've used were Photoshop and Final Cut Pro X (Adobe Premiere - when I switch to Windows).

If that is how intense I get in terms of computing power, should I wait and see what Microsoft does with the Surface Pro 4 or should I bypass it completely and just stick with a traditional laptop? If laptop, I've had my eye on the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12 (2nd gen). Thoughts?

Surface Pro 4 will have some cool things like Windows Hello and the new broadwell processors for better graphics and battery life. That being said, the Pro 3 is a steal right now and I run photoshop and illustrator on it no problem. There is no competition for the built in pen and it's a treat to use with OneNote, a huge differentiator if your going to be using it in class.
