Surface Pro ranked 1 in Worst Battery Life-Guzzling Gadgets

If you are making this comparison based only on the shape resemblance of the respective devices, it fails on many different levels. Would you compare a pen to a stylus just because they look the same?

A pen can write on nearly anything, a stylus can only function on the specific digitizer it's made for. Pen > Stylus, and as a bonus, a pen only costs $0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001/hr in juice (I mean, eventually the electrons that make it up will run out of charge, right?)

Dude, don't buy the Pro. It's not for you. If you absolutely need more than 5 hours of battery life, then stick with your ipad or android. Or the RT. Go off to your happy place and be content with your mobile device. For me, and other Pro owners, it is exactly what we want and we like having a computer at our fingertips vs using a toy like ipad or android. It's all a matter or needs. You need more than hours battery life otherwise the Pro would be perfect. Ok, good for you. "Move along, these aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along."

Umm why are you telling me this? Are you confused?

I posted the article to show what they are saying about the Pro good or bad

No, it makes no sense to compare Pro to a MacBook Air. The MBA is a laptop and the Pro is a tablet. It is not even a hybrid unless you stretch that definition. The battery life is what it is and the device is a tablet. Surface Pro's battery life harkens back to the early days of Android tablets and that is really bad. A mobile device that cannot make it to five hours is not a mobile device for many of us. It is a desktop device with a silly form factor that I can take to a coffee shop and not much else. If they could not address the battery life, they should have withheld the release until they had an answer. Releasing a tablet with the battery life of a five year old laptop is just stupid.

lol you're so wrong. Surface Pro is closer to Macbook Air and other laptops.
Surface RT and iPad run on ARM (Tegra 3 and Apple A5X)
Surface Pro and Macbook Air run on x86 (Intel Core i5)

^This = FAIL

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
:winktongue:

So by this metric e-readers and old nokia bar phones are superior, my how technology has regressed! /sarcasm

So, using this article's logic, the desktop I built for $1000 a year ago that HAS to be plugged in all the time has cost me infinite dollars?

Also, is it just me, or did the article use Apple products as a gold standard, despite the fact that they get just as bad (or worse) battery than some of the products they listed? I think someone got paid by someone other than Yahoo to write this article...

You guys think that's bad? I paid 1200 for my laptop which had a battery life of about 4 hours. Let's just say my laptop was worse.

I'll consider a PRO if the price was a bit lower. That thing is pretty much perfect for my needs.

God how stupid. First and foremost what makes a tablet is the OS. iOS = Android <<<<<<<<<<<< Windows 8 Pro. You can't seriously compare a mobile OS with a FULL Desktop OS.

That's the problem with reading the garbage that most online tech journalists write. They make comparisons only as far as it will back up their argument when it is painfully obvious that the big picture is contrary to what they are writing.
