Synaptic touch not workng properly!!

VAIO E series running the latest version of Windows 8, synaptic touch never worked perfectly for me, freezing many times, stops working and closed whenever I woke my VAIO.

Is it me? or synaptic has some serious issues with its driver?
any suggestions to fix?

Perhaps driver reinstallation is in order? Uninstall the device from Device Manager and either use the generic thing Windows has or download the appropriate one from the support website.
