with tonnes of variable checksum each time a function is launch, you either need a huge cache or a fast memory. Both of them needs energy to run. Yes on a server or a facility it is just matter of few percentage, but on a phone, killing it an hour earlier is enough to ruin the fun.

I've only had my WP for a few days and I am far from familiar with it but I can see that the option to hide/show SMS previews would be useful for many and for various good reasons.

After all, Microsoft acknowledge the need for InPrivate browsing in IE so what's wrong with InPrivate SMS in WP?

"Don't notify the user of something they didn't ask to be notified about."

Seems like they should take their own advice, as I believe there should be a user option to prevent certain notifications, which could pose a security risk, etc.

I agree with you. I hate that showing up and everyone doesn't want to keep their phone in their pocket or purse. When I had my iPhone you can change that so only the person's name shows up when you get a text. Not half of the conversation so everybody can read it when your phone is sitting on your desk at work or something.
