Hey guys somewhat new to the WP wonderfulness and I have a question:
I just got my HTC Trophy through ebay last week and I have done all the updates. Or so I thought, then yesterday I got another update. Later on I got a text message and I got a pop asking me if I wanted to participate in something along the lines of text to speech, I said sure why the **** not. Then I got a text message from a friend and the WP system asked in spoken words if I wanted to hear the message or ignore it. I said hear the message and it read it out to me and then it asked if I wanted to reply, I thought OK, sure, let's reply. So I replied and everything went fine.

My question is, is this something that WP7 has always had? I had been sending and receiving new texts since last Thursday when I got the phone and I had not received these prompts.

Thanks

Yep its always had it. At least as far back as I remember. I think you have to turn it on though. And there is an option to say "only through headset or bluetooth" or something along those lines.

Im not really worried about text to speech, but its helpful when driving at least!

Hey Blob, thanks for the heads up. Didn't know it was there, so I was just wondering if it was something to do w/the update.

I live in California and we are not allowed to text wile driving and I'm ok w/that, so it will come in pretty handy when it's the significant other texting to get that gallon of milk :).

This feature came with the 7.5 update.

Sent from my Lumia 900 using Board Express

I wish there was a way to do confirmations only. So when I voice dial I know I am dialing the right person. Anyone know if that will be an option?

My Lumia 900 confirms when I voice dial. If I have multiple numbers under a contact and I didn't specify when I gave the command it will ask me which one I want and then give me my options.

siri is overhype rubbish :D. never seen anyone use it. got demo twice. once it doesn't work because there was background music (have to turn off music). another because the tv was on (have to mute tv).
