PM I Got From Stevovr
Here's a PM I got this morning from stevovr:
Here's my response to him. It's always extremely important to back each other up:
"More happened behind the scenes here in that thread than you realize.
Let's first talk about Winterfang. Here's all I know about him from his posts. He's a young kid from Puerto Rico that works in a Kiosk at a shopping mall in Puerto Rico. He obviously has a lot of spare time at his Kiosk in order to get his post count as high as it is in such a short amount time.
What Winterfang did in that thread is what we call "thread crapping". I am not a psychologist. but the only reason I can think of as to why a person does something like this is because they want attention and are looking for a response to their opinion. This always puts the attention on the "thread crapper", instead of the topic. We don't want that in the forums. If you see it, please report it, don't participate in it.
All the posts that put the attention on Winterfang response were deleted. That was the right thing to do. Sometimes we send a PM out on a post deletion and sometimes we don't. We don't send a PM out on a thread deletion when it's, "self-evident" as to why it was deleted, which is the case here.
Now if you understand me up to this point, you should be able to understand Blake's response. What you saw as a positive response was simply contributing to the "thread crapping". That's where the confusion is on Blake's response to you.
I hope I have explained the situation well enough so you now have a better understanding as to what happened.
If you any more questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. "

hi palandri, i have sent this to you as from my time on this forum you have been a consistent moderator who's judgement i've seen as understandable and correct. I am seeking a second opinion over a post removal. the thread is in wp8 os discussion.
New Features Spotted started by a new member calvininmotion. The next comment was by Winterfang who commented "nothing of interest then" subsequent posts commented on the harshness of Winterfangs post, paladinleeds commented "i'm interested" calvininmotion came back on to write words and smillie to the effect "i'll leave then".which upon checking as of this writing was his last post.
i posted after this words to the effect don't leave hang about, followed by the words "winterfang has over 2900 posts alot of which are nothing of interest
please note the smillie used at the end of the statement.when i logged in last night my notifications showed i had 4 new likes and when i went to see what had been liked there was nothing. then on searching the above mentioned thread i found my post, paladinleeds post and a couple others removed. I recieved no notification for the removal or why and when i pm'd Blake he replied read the forum rules ,if you can't make a positive contribution to the thread move on.Forgive me if it sounds a bit thick but to my way of thinking Winterfangs comment to a new poster/member was the nonpositive contribution. the positive contributions were paladinleeds, mine and a couple others. They atleast stood up for the new poster and tried to encourage.does this forum look to grow or is it just a place for the chosen few where the rest are tolerated to make up the numbers to sell advervising.i can appreciate the removal of the post if it was as a result of the removal of WF's comment and thereby becoming out of context with the remainder of the thread but common decency dictates a quick pm of explanation rather than silence followed by a responce to query that makes it look like i'm in the wrong when clearly the post was liked by atleast 4 people who saw it before it was removed and probably appreciated what was said.Does a high post count give licence to insult new members and discourage them from continuing. Thanks for listening.I know D Blake is the top dog and as such his word is final but i would just like to know if your take on the situation is the same which would indicate to me the general attitude of the forum admin so i know wither to hang about or just stick to XDA and androidcentral.
God bless
S Reid
