The problem with the OneStore

Well maybe not a problem, but I'm asking myself how are they going to do it? When the stores are merged, will apps that are just for phones be hidden on larger devices as not available? Or will they be opened in tiny screens relative to the phone size? And visa versa, metro apps for w8.1 devices will have a hard time shrinking on phones. Will they be hidden in the phone store? The problem is that there are not many universal apps yet. How are they going to do it?

For example the facebook app. When we search for a facebook app in the one store, will we see the app for the phone and the app for larger screens? Or will one of the two apps be removed? If so, which? Or will they both stay? But then it will be very confusing for users. Downloading the facebook app that is currently for w8.1 will be a horrible experience on phones. Yes, facebook might be working on a universal app but many other apps might not adapt that quick.

Does anyone have more insights?

You'll only see one app. The one app for your device. Like the Google Play Store, you only see apps for your device.

If that is the case it doesn't differ much from now. Now you also see the right facebook app for your device. And universal apps are shown in both. So there will be no real difference.. Other than it having the same looks and possibilities for developers to submit once and other things that are kinda unnoticeable for the end user. In the long term it will stimulate more universal apps I can understand, but that is already possible.

Basically but people seem to think something totally different is going to happen.

Oh, but it does. Not for the consumer, but for the developers. This should pave the way for devs to push universal apps, which would be more cost-effective for them and simpler when targeting ONE marketplace. The consumer will have the added benefit of buying any app ONCE, then installing on any windows machine they have (right now, you have to buy the same app, say, Angry Birds, twice on Windows and WP, because they're technically different apps).
