Thread prefixes. An idea for future organization

The gaming site I post at has a neat way to organize topics. The way it works is that posters must pick a prefix before starting a new thread, in this case, video game consoles. That allows threads to be filtered by that prefix with just a click of a button.

We could do something similar here. Instead of having separate forums for the 920, 810, 620 etc etc, we would just have the Nokia Device Forum. Posters would have to select their handset prefix before starting a new thread. Then they could either see all the posts in that forum or click their prefix button to filter it by device.

And while on the subject, should the Titan II forum be listed with the rest of the WP8 devices? I know the 900 is up there but the Titan II forum doesn't get the same level of foot traffic.

While I do love the 900, its time is quickly approaching.

Though there will probably be a dramatic uptick in posts if/when 7.8 gets released in NA.

I think the 900 is the only WP7 device that already got 7.8 from AT&T.

The prefix thing sounds good. Post a link to the site I will take a look.

I agree there a few devices that can step down I will take a closer look at those. The Omnia and the W1 can both drop down a peg. The Titan II is was my favorite WP7 device my Wife and Daughter both still use that device. I guess its just sentimental but I like having it there. I will think about dropping it down. The L900 on the other hand needs to stay where it is. I would bet that between 15&20% of the people in the forum are using a L900. Also Laura the AT&T L900 hasn't gotten the 7.8 update yet. It is on the Nokia servers but I think that AT&T caught the live tile update issue and is now testing the fix before releasing the update. I still have my L900 I check for the update every day or so. AT&T even sent out an email a couple of months ago telling L900 users an update was coming but nothing yet.

My son has the 900 here in Dallas and he's had the 7.8 update for a while.Told him last week about the next update to fix the tile problem. Don't know if he's got it yet.

I grabbed the update on 31 January by doing the Zune trick. Maybe it's been pulled since then, but I have resizable tiles and Bing daily wallpaper on lockscreen. OS 7.10.8858.136

Firmware 2175.2307.8858.12480

I haven't gotten that one yet, but my tiles work fine.
