Tiles Not Updating, Nor Email Checked

Hello,
I've looked online to get the answer to this, but I couldn't really find a solid answer. I've noticed my lock screen calendar app didn't update the temp, weather, nor battery level. I then noticed that my WindowsPhoneCentral app wasn't giving a new article count, like there was nothing new. When I opened WPCentral app, lo & behold, there are new articles. No new emails are shown until I opened the email app, lo & behold, I have new email. So, I come to the conclusion that the background tasks aren't working. I checked the settings & made sure these items weren't blocked - They aren't. I've turned off my phone & back on, but to no avail.

I've got a Nokia 920.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Hi,
Reading that posting helps a lot, especially understanding the process. I didn't see it mention if this also applies to the default email app/client on the phone. Would it also pertain to it?
