Its time to get a new phone. My HTC HD7 is living its last moments wont even receive phone calls anymore. I am currently a customer with wind and looking to switch to Fido (Canada) those are pretty much my main options. Looking at getting an S3 or Nexus 4 because the carriers I'm looking at, actually almost all carries don't support windows phones in Canada. And I cant afford a phone off contract as im a student. So nexus 4 or S3 or does anyone have any options for me (windows phone) not looking for low end windows phones though. Thanks a lot.

What is your budge? My carrier does not support Windows Phone (H20 wireless) but you can bring in whatever AT&T phone because they use the same network. So, maybe if your carrier use GSM or CDMA... you can buy any Windows Phone that support any network. My phone is locked to AT&T and I just need a SIM card from my carrier to work with.

Look on eBay for any sim-free phones. There's usually a few around that have been given as upgrades that the owner doesn't want, so it's possible to get a new phone at a good value price. Or you can get someone's old phone if you don't mind it being in a used state.

If I were you, I'd try and save money and go for a medium spec used phone.

Yup, my suggestion would be to buy a new/used SIM free phone. You can get some really good models cheap if you know where to search.
You said you dont want low-end phones, so.. I would suggest Lumia 820 maybe, or something similar.

I can only recommend a SG3 if you are planning to install stock Android rom... because the Touchwiz UI will get slow and buggy in only some months. The Nexus 4 looks a better choice but no micro SD remember. Also like suggested, a SIM free Lumia 820 could be a great budget option.

Im gonna get it on Monday, will see how much i like it. I can exchange within 30 days so that's not a problem. If Android doesn't appeal to me i will return to WP, (probably a used 920) never will i get an iPhone though. Hahaha.
