Having a 635,sort of thinking of upgrading to the 640 xl.

Tmobile wont be carrying it at all, only the regular 640. Should still be a good size increase from 4.5 to 5.0. It's going to release in the spring, was hoping next month. So no exact date.

The 640 xl might a little to big for day to day use and one hand. The sweet spot is like 5.2 for me.

I think people should use the 640 XL to see if they could possibly handle the 1520 xd

In any case the 640 seems like a good phone to upgrade to if you're coming from a 520, 521, 630, 635

I hope the 640 comes with a smaller screen size variant than 5". At least sometime in the future.

Don't care about camera quality,so not that bad. 640 likely going to be $180 or $200 for tmobile.

The problem is the release date, likely be released in July -_-
I hope not though.

I wanted the xl because i also have the 635 and it would have been more of a notable upgrade especially with the cameras and the 3000 mah battery

Some sites are saying no tmobile version but Windows central reported it was coming to tmobile

T-Mobile and Metro PCS will carry Lumia 640, but not the 640XL

That article is 100% FUD, and has no proof whatsoever that TMO will not be carrying the XL. I've been reaching out to them over Twitter, but haven't heard back yet.

Even the source article says "AT&T will be the first U.S. carrier to offer the Lumia 640 XL". and not "AT&T will be the only U.S. carrier to offer the Lumia 640 XL."

That's true but I'm looking for more confirmation whether it's coming out not I've been tweeting everybody as well no luck

8 GB internal, if you're one of the unlucky ones that just cannot get an SD card to work properly on the dang phone, will hurt.

32 GB microSDHC (Class 10 U1 Sandisk and Samsung) would delete photos after moving them, apps would break and delete as i move them to SD card, etc

64 gb microSDXC class 10 (Hong Kong generic from eBay), all apps on SD would disconnect in a way and the phone will no longer see them and say the card has an error and offer to scan it.

I just can't get them to work properly. Is the only way around this is to use the WP Sync Program/App? Or use FTP to move all the files instead of drag and drop?

Have a Samsung evo 64gb and no problems. Also had a class 4 SanDisk 32gb,also no problems.

Moved most apps to SD

Haven't had any issues with my SD card besides the scan for errors message bit even still it still works

Straight from tmobile...still no definite answer about the xl

I also have a 635 like the OP and I am planning on upgrading to the 640XL as well. It addresses all my complaints about the 635 which I have been satisfied with. (Screen too small, not a good enough camera, no front facing camera, not enough RAM are my big complaints). If the unlocked 640XL works with T-Mobile LTE than I'd rather get that anyway unless the T-Mobile specific version is a lot cheaper.

Let just hope that carriers have common sense to listen on what the consumer interest are, something they been very obliviously.
