A power cycle is not the same as a soft reset. A soft resert clears certain app caches and such. The most noticeable difference can be seen by watching at date and time. They remain unchanged by a power cycle. A soft reset on the other hand resets it to the values of the last performed update. It'll quickly be updated, if you've set your device to do so though.
Just spoke with a developer and it said that the file that has been triggered during soft reset and restart (as in for the RebootNow app) is the same file but that file can execute 3 command lines (or whatever they are called). First one is to soft reset the device, second one is to restart (power cycle/reboot) and the third one is for hard reset (factory settings). So, i was right and i was not in the same time, lol.
