Wow, then good luck with Android !
I just left Android phones after 5 years... speaking of worst battery life and buggy OS, Android is by far the worst. Memory leaks, FCs, poor updates, bloatware from carriers are terrible (again, worst than WP8). To be as snappy/fluid as WP8, you need a 4 cores processor and plenty of ram !
If you want to improve, then you have to go in geek mode (flash/try different roms, with the risk of bricking your phone... optimizing the ram management, OC, etc.).
Problem with Android is that it is not specific to one phone or equipment (proc/ram/etc.). So it depends totally of the specs of the phone.
Lumias (for example) are optimized for WP (as iOS is optimized for iPhone) ... makes a big difference !

I mean, my Lumia 521 is waaaaaay smoother than my ex LG L9 and even my ex G2. As for freezes, crashes and such, I almost never experienced those problems.
After 5 years of tweaking/flashing/bricking-unbricking/etc., coming back to WP (I was an inconditionnal until WP6.5) is such a relief ! I don't feel the need to spent 70% of my time trying to improve my phone. Now, I currently USE my phone for REAL.

My 2 cents

I see people in elevators everyday with 8-core phones who tap on something and then it either crashes or takes 5-6 seconds to open up. Pathetic.

Not bricking, but some apps will refuse to run if you don't have the standard version of the rom, I had this issue with my HTC Sensation back in the day. I could use Sky and Iplayer with the standard rom, but if I changed it for one that actually worked properly they refused to run. I also HATED the "we've an android app, but it only works with version 3.2.4.5.3.5.7.3.2.5 on a handful of phones". The fragmentation of the OS is why I tried a 920 and never looked back.

Microsoft has it right with the updates, I want the choice between close to stable (DP) or 100% solid. Don't misunderstand, I want my update NOW damn it NOW, but more than that I want it to be right. It great that we are not in the fractured market that Android is, where security updates require each carrier to make updates to each phone. Microsoft can fix the OS on every phone the instant an update is ready, yet there isn't as severe a closed garden as Apple.

I downgraded to 8.0 from 8.1 (for the Cyan update) and am really missing the improvements. That really surprised me as I didn't feel they were that big. Turns out they were.

The only reason why I use Windows Phone is because of the Nokia Here Drive Navigation app. Other than that, My Lumia 920 is totally crap compared to my brother's Lenovo S930 (Android). The phone is cheaper than my Lumia 920 but better. Some of what my Lumia 920 with WP 8.1 DP cannot do where my brother's Lenovo S930 (with the latest version Kitkat 4.4) can:

1) Record voice conversation with a single tap during call
2) Auto wakeup/turn off phone
3) Better Notification Center
4) Better Battery Life
5) SMS/call LED notification
6) Well..... there are so many to list out..

What is the best feature that Windows Phones have?

Cortana?????
Live Tiles????
Live Folder???? <--Hahahahahaha

So funny.

I chose WP for its distinguished UI, Tile features and I love the mail+Calendar app. Oh, I forgot to mention the ME tile - Once, it was my favorite, but it's no longer, as official apps poured in and killed the very purpose of the ME app. Loved it, but I never compare it with ANDRO. If someone asks me why do you choose WP over ANDRO, my answer will be UI and tile, Other than that I have nothing to talk about Uniqueness.. SAD :( :(
hmm, it will change one day.. Hope so

What a great list!!!
I think you forgot to add the following features of android:

-Laggy OS which needs a quad core to run as smooth as a single core WP
-Unstable OS
-Most unsafe OS out there which, alone, has 98% of all mobile OS malware.

Oh and where you say "better battery life" just put a note saying "i am stupidly comparing a 2000mAh to a 3000mAh" because otherwise you are saing something false. I dare you compare our battery performance to a Lumia 1520 then :D

No big deal then :D

I cant believe the number of whinging impatient users... Most of whom cant even user search to find an answer but have to spam the forum with endless repetitions of the same questions. Very sad.

The purpose of this thread is for the impatient people to track the cyan rollout. The only reason why a patient person comes into this thread is to complain about impatient people
