Look in settings->extras+info and tap the "more info" button. Hopefully, you will have "mobile operator" listed there.

I don't think he even needs one as hes getting a signal from somewhere (look in the screenshot)

Errrr.... The signal bars indicate that a network is present. There's no way that can happen without a carrier. He needs to know his carrier name as that indicates when he can expect the update from Nokia (whether it's tied to a carrier or is a Country Variant phone).

What im saying is he would have ZERO reception if he didn't have a carrier. In the screenshot he is clearly getting reception from a carrier but it doesn't say which one

I get wot ur saying now lol if peeps would just stop worrying bout wen they're going to get n update and go live their life we wouldn't be having these convo's lol

Did all the Lumia 625 users get update in India ( who had already installed dp version ) bcz I am not getting it now ut shows up to date , when I tried in the morning it shows update ready but it stops @ 59 % several times after I restart the phone it shows up to date

I missed the update as I was busy.....so after 2 pm I tried updating it still says phone uptodate... I'm using Lumia 625 with Windows phone 8.1 dev preview. I'm from India west bengal

Looks like Nokia is blocking dev preview users from updaing to Cyan because of the bit locker bug.
Check here it says that you need to roll back to wp8 in order to get the update: http://conversations.nokia.com/2014/07/16/update-lumia-cyan-smoothly/

Yah know that. I read the post in the WP central app. My only mistake was missing the update on the morning and then reading about the bitlocker users...hope it gets fixed soon...

I updated my 625 (running DP 8.1) yesterday night without any issues. Have to watch out how it works when update is available for the 1320.

Got an update on my Lumia 1020 Rogers Canadian carrier. Will post back to let people know if it is indeed the Cyan update.

EDIT: It's the update that Microsoft just released.

That wont work. Use the official software recovery tool to downgrade to a normal commercial version (in this case windows phone 8). Only then you will be able to get the update

1520.3 looks like I got an update. On 8.1 DP. Will confirm if it is cyan shortly.
