Trying to create Recovery Image with USB stick

I am trying to create a recovery disk with a USB stick but the DV8P will not recognize the stick. I have a Micro USB to USB adapter that is marked as being OTG compatible. Is there any reason this wouldn't work? I have tested the stick on another PC and it works without issue.

I was able to get this sorted out. The USB OTG device was defective.
