Typing tutorial.

Can someone give me a crash course on typing on Windows phone. Using swipe is nice but confusing. Swiping a word and then following with a sign/number ends in a space being put between the word and the sign/number sometimes but not others. Is there's a rule to this? Is there a way I can get swipe to suggest a word that isn't listed above the keypad? How can I get swipe to suggest some words more than others (I type the word beat a lot but swipe always defaults to beast first). I would like to be able to change that behavior. Is there a way to select all without manually highlighting everything?

After reading your questions here I was trying to get the keyboard to work the same way.
I'm having a bit of trouble figuring it out also.

I was hoping this would explain things:

I think the spaces are just Windows forcing standard grammar.
If I find a way to customize this I'll post back here.
