It is still an issue in the NewsSpot app. It is not an issue in the Nextgen Reader app.

I use Weave, and the article opens in the web view. It's still opening in the app, but because it loads the web view it takes much longer to load the article than articles from other sources. It makes it difficult to enjoy the news on occasion.
