Hello Windows Central community! I am trying to upgrade from my Nokia 520, which is a perfect phone for a low budget phone, but I am tired of waiting 4-8 seconds for its responsiveness in terms of opening applications, and I would also like a phone that has a great display and feels less cheap. Phone Size would not matter to me

I am trying to search for a windows phone with these specifics:

  • WP 8.1 of course
  • good display
  • 1gb ram
  • completely unlocked full price Between $200-$280
  • Has the least of hardware/software issues
  • Performs fast in terms of app opening and great multitasking
  • Has a descent battery life
  • Good rear and front facing camera

Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

Like Quhi said, the 735. It has the same specs as the 830, exept for the camera, Glance and 8GB less. The 735 has 1GB RAM, 8GB intern, quad core 1,2 GHz Cortex A-7, 6.7 MP rear camera (which is actually better then you think) and a 5 MP front camera. The 830 also has 1GB RAM, 16GB intern, quad core 1.2 GHz Cortex A-7, 10 MP rear camera and a poor 0.9 MP front camera. Something that I don't like about the 735 is that the buttons are on the screen but if I were you, I should buy the 735 (or 730 if you need Dual SIM) :)

Hey NafcMontana and Quhi, thanks for these responses, The 735/730 seems like the best investment :)! But is dual Sim the only difference between the 735/ 730? And where do you think I can get the best deal for the 735/730 in terms of fully unlocked one time payment price :)

Where are you?

Well just 1 tip for 730/735. Get black one. Do not get Orange/white/green they made from cheaper plastic than black one.

I am in the united states, I see on amazon for 300+ but i am looking for a good price around maybe 250-300 hopefully. The black color? gotcha I think that is the same with my 520, i have a blue and black back cover, and the black on feels more premium

730 simcard is micro, 735 simcard nano.
And 735 is a 0.2 mm thicker and 3.6 gram heavier.
And 735 can be charged with Qi (if you buy the cover) and the 730 can not.

I got a 730 recently here in India, I read above that 730 does not come with wireless charging but I do see two pins (for wireless charging I guess) when I remove the back case. So I think it does support wireless charging if you buy the appropriate case.
And also 730 (not sure about 735) has some "hissing" sound from the speaker at low volumes (particularly noticeable when typing). This is a problem reported by many 730 users all around. Though not a big issue it certainly is annoying. Other than that 730 is a perfect device for the price. The display specially is a gem.

Now I have the Lumia 625, first I was thinking about buying the 830 but after my friend bought one and I was playing around with it, we noticed that my 625 was opening apps faster than his 830... I don't know if it is only his 830, it probably is but now I'm gonna buy the 735 :)

735 has the same processor as the 830, speeds should be similar.

Are the games installed on a SD or internal memory. And if on SD which class. This can have influence on loading time.

Most of my apps are on a 32GB Class 10 Micro SD, he hasn't got a Micro SD so all his apps are on his phone but the apps that still are on my phone like Skype, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger,... are still opening faster

Can you move a app to your internal memory and than check if it launches faster or slower compared with launching it from the SD.

Asphalt 8 is on my device because I'm out of memory on my SD and it opens faster and runs smoother, you can hear the lag in the music if he is playing and you can see it lags, not much but you can see it... I think there's just something with his 830. He's hard resetting now and I'll say how it runs afterwards

Interesting Info around here :), Thank to all of you I am really considering the Lumia 735, but im seeing that the BLU win HD is direct competitor and a significantly cheaper than the 735. Any news on the Blu win HD's reliability? It seems like another good deal because the Blu win HD has a bigger screen IPS display, pixel density is almost the same, 1GB ram (same as 735) ,and a similar processor at 1.2ghz
