Upgrading SD card

I want to move from 8 GB SD card to 32 GB SD card for my Nokia Lumia 720. I have a large number of apps/photos/maps on the current SD cards. Can I copy the contents of the old SD card, dump them in the new SD card and expect them to work just fine. If not are there any steps/procedures I need to follow.

Yes, just copy everything from your old SD Card to the new one. Everything should be fine.

I heard that it's better to format the new SD Card inside the phone before using it.
