Windows Central Question

I have a really old version of XAMPP (XAMPP 1.8.3 [PHP: 5.5.3]) running on Windows 10.

I thinking it might be time to upgrade.

1) Do I need to uninstall my old version before upgrading.
2) I'm a novice and might need some hand-holding on this.
I have downloaded xampp-win32-5.6.15-1-VC11-installer.
Is there a step-by-step procedure for doing the installation?

Personally, I would uninstall XAMPP before installing a new version, because there may be some issues with upgrading over so many versions. However, I would make backups of my configuration files to help me get it configured again.

I would also recommend you get your step-by-step help from the user forums for XAMPP, as they will have the best expertise to get you going. I retired from coding several years ago, and haven't run XAMPP in about 5 years now.
