It would be nice if there was a setting in Microsoft Edge that would let you configure the browser to open certain urls with various apps.

The most common examples I could think of would be facebook, youtube, twitter etc.

One app that is already capable of accepting external urls is Tubecast. for example entering this url in any browser will open the youtube video in the tubecast app.

tubecast:link=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DzSJUMAExTI4

I feel like this would benefit both windows mobile and windows dektop users.

The simplest way I can think of to implement this would be for any domain that is specified prepend nameofapp: to the url when it is clicked, but of course don't prepend if someone wants to copy the source url.

ie facebook:facebook.com/sometopic/orprofile
tubecast:youtube.com/somevideo/orplaylist
8stream:twitch.tv/somechannel/orhighlight
6sec:vine.co/someclip

Additionally, if the browser is opened from a direct url that is passed through from another app (such as a messaging app, email, SMS etc), open it in the appropriate app instead
