Usb Port change

Hey guys,
Does anyone here know how to remove the usb charging port for the lumia 1020, mine is damaged and could only charge at certain angles or not at all which is very troublesome.

I looked at some teardown videos but they all don't show how to remove it. I attempted but its pretty tightly stuck there.

Warranty is out of the question, local phone repairs do it at a stupidly high price, so planning to order the port from eBay and just swapping it out. I could get a new phone but I don't want to dump a phone just because of a damaged usb charging port.

It is not an easy repair and the chance of screwing up the microphone located next to the USB charging port are high. If you know of a good repair shop they can do it for about $35-45 or so. If you can find a used wireless charging shell you might be better off.

Chances are it is solder directly into the motherboard.

i found a video the other day about replacing the usb port and flex cable assembly. I have a similar issue

Grab a wireless charging cover? It's a horribly designed shell, but it would get you round the problem (it uses the charging contacts on the rear, not the USB).

I need to do the same thing. I want to revert my phone back to WP 8.1 from the technical preview, but unfortunately the USB port no longer connects data, but it does charge. These ports are so fragile, had this kind of thing happen many times before with Micro USB.
