Using a 1520 without a screen protector?

I've never used a screen protector on any touch device, my 1520 has survived over a year without one.

I used to go without screens on my now old 920 when one day getting into my car, the phone slipped from my pocket and fell in between the seat and middle console, I think the seatbelt somehow gave it a nice long gash right in the middle of the screen. I'm a bit more cautious where my phone is now even though i always thought I was one of those guys that never dropped their expensive little investments. Lol! Yea my 1520 has a good screen protector on it.

...If you don't throw it into pockets or bags with any hardened metals, ceramics, stones, etc why would you need it?

The biggest culprit is fine particles of sand or hard grit that can get in your pocket. They really cut into a screen pretty quick and you really never realize they are there...

But the question is what do you mean by word scratch. I want to use my Lumia 1520 without any protector, because she is beautiful. But when I clean my Lumia with microfiber cloth I can see few really small scratches.
These scratches are really thin and visible just under the right degree with light source in the background. They look just like light reflection. And they are maybe thinner than hair.
I can't see them when I use my phone. When there are fingerprints on the screen it's impossible to see them.
So by word scratch, do you mean these extremely small scratches too?
