Volume down+ power button fires up feedback app

There's no need for the volume down key I think. Just hold down the power key, right?

I always wonder why people include holding the volume key down. You are correct...just holding the powers key for a bit will make it soft reset.

The volume down+power shortcut exists since the last build. It will include a snapshot of your current app in the feedback app, as a bonus (as opposed to launch the feedback app manually).

As for the soft reset, volume down is required. If you wonder why people ALWAYS include it, it's maybe because that's the official MS statement: How to soft- and hard reset your Windows Phone - Microsoft Community

;)
I'm asking sincerely, because I don't know...when I hold the power button down on my 930 for 5-10 seconds,it vibrates then restarts. What happens differently if I would include holding the volume button down with that. Again, I am asking because I'd like the information if just holding the power button is not soft resetting my phone.

What we're trying to say is that holding down JUST the power key on any version of WP will cause a restart / soft reset.

Not for my 920 (W10) and 925 (Denim) I held the power button for 2 minutes and nothing happened. For my 930 (W10) however it work, it restarts after about 10 seconds.

How do you know it's a soft reset? Is date/time reset for instance? Doesn't work on my 1020 either, I have to press down+power to get that soft reset.

I noticed when playing with email that if you click on your email account and get to screen where shows inbox, all mail etc, there is a smile at bottom. If you click on smiley takes you to feed back as well. One question is if you click on the ... at bottom, there is option to Upload Feedback Data. Anyone know what goes here? I empty mine and 30 minutes later already has 6 and overnight usually about 40...Does it just randomly gather data to send. I know it is not just crash reports because I haven't had 6 crashes in last 30 minutes :)

Yeah on my Lumia 820 (W10) it doesn't work whereas on my Lumia 640 XL (WP8.1) pressing power button alone does soft reset..
