VPN in Windows Phone 8.1

I searched in windows phone store on my Icon with 8.1 and Anyconnect from cisco showed up, but when you install it ,it installs but there is nothing behind it? its like a placeholder? anyone else see this?

The VPN apps in the store are actually like "plug-ins" , after you download them you have to select them from within the main vpn configuration under settings.

The 3 apps I tried are:

Check Point Mobile VPN
Junos Pulse VPN
WonicWALL Mobile Connect

None of them helped me connect to my PPTP vpn.

I'm looking for a fortinet SSL client anyone ?

So close, windows, so close. No support for my Barracuda SSL VPN, so this update does nothing for me. The one thing I wanted, L2TP or IPSec... Nothing. Thanks MS! Everything else looks cool in the OS though, just can't use it. My 920 goes back on shelf.

My 920 gets sold, which is too bad 'cause I really like it. Microsoft is unbelievably tone-deaf.
As much as I hate to say it: Goodbye Windows Phone, hello Android.
Sorry to see you go, but you must know that Android besides the fact that it has some better functions it suffers from version fragmentation and it is extremely vulnerable to malware.

only support ikev2 vpn

Windows Phone 8.1 introduces support for virtual private networks (VPNs), including app-specific VPN capabilities, IPsec, and SSL VPN gateways. After picking up a Windows phone and hours of testing I?m happy to announce we now support Windows Phone!
IKEv2
IKEv2 allows Windows Phone 8.1 devices to tolerate interruptions in the underlying VPN connection. If the connection is temporarily lost, or if a user moves from one network to another, IKEv2 will automatically restore the VPN connection after the network connection is reestablished. For more information on IKEv2, please see Internet Key Exchange (IKEv2) Protocol and IP Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP).

I know many has the opinion that android is less safe, but I have never experienced malware on android and if you stick to google play apps you should be fine.

Fragmentations in theory , but since many units uses the same resolution , it's more a tablet issue.

Anyone got it to work with Synology VPN?

How did you find it? I can't find any connect in the store.

I kept my 925 until today hoping that with the VPN 8.1 and I could use it in a business setting, but at this point I have to switch to Android or to go back to iPhone, because there is no support for L2TP.
Too bad because I really liked windowsphone system, but as always Microsoft does things with a lot of superficiality.
