Wow, this build is even worst than the last one from what I've seen so far. Did my third hard reset now, let's see if it will get better. But there is so much that doesn't work.
The Desktop preview is getting better and better each build, the mobile is more and more broken. What's up with them? I mean, sure it's an Alpha, but shouldn't we see improvements over the last 4 months? I hope they will manage it until release, I like the OS (without the bugs).​

I'm sure it's different for a lot of people, most issues work themselves out. I think that Microsoft is making quite the progress with windows ten, most stuff I come across are little hiccups like the brief loading screen when starting phone up,the black screen when leaving apps which hitting the windows key fixes it and other easily solvable things like that. I don't mind that Onedrive isn't showing my files right now either. I'm glad to test out this alpha OS with my primary phone.

I'm sure it's different for a lot of people, most issues work themselves out. MS needs to hire back all the people that built Win XP and Win 7.....and let them build all future Oses,including mobile.

Lost Home Screen (or StartScreen). Stuck on "loading ......."
My 1520 will never pass this point after booting! Feel like it is bricked.
Feel like opting out NOW - B10080 like going from frying pan to fire.

My Phone dialer app will no longer open just crashes back to the start screen, it was working but now it won't. Tried a soft reset, then a hard one. Anyone have a clue to fixing this?

Photos app is completely missing from my app list. And I could not get it to install on my phone.
People Hub crashes when I try to launch it.
These 3 apps are the main issues for me. Other than that the build seems to work well. And faster too than build 10074.

Build 10080 - Lumia 1520

Podcasts app broken
Several Hard Resets, menu doesn't load, stuck on loading, hard resets sometimes solve, then when I go to correct date and time, sometimes the same happens again, sometimes it doesn't

Bottom portion of screen on hometiles is wasted space (I assume they have something planned on putting there)

Not a great build, very unreliable, have hard reset 5 timnes today in just trying to use the device.


Positives:

Outlook Mobile is excellent
Alarms App is improved.
Recently Installed Apps on All Apps screen is good
Messaging - I like the new layout
Store BETA - I like this too

Hard Reset your phone using Hard Keys combinations. It will resolve the Start Screen issue.

It's been an exercise in frustration getting this version to work properly but seems to me like it's an issue with apps. Did a clean install, do not restore from backup. Delete all of the apps that don't work, even the MS ones. Then add them back one at a time. I know that'll take awhile and I'm certainly only running about 1/10 of the apps I had before but no more loading start screen and the new versions of apps run pretty well now..Music Preview, OneDrive, Outlook mail and calendar, Project Spartan a lot faster this build and actually usable for me. Extra column of tiles on 1520 working now and not bogging down. I'm not sure if I was just installing too many apps at once or if it's one or two apps simply causing this update to flounder but I actually have a fast and functioning system taking it slow. As always, if you want a fully-functioning TP out of the box then this update is not for your daily driver.

FWIW, if you get this error trying to install the 10080 update: 800704e7

Just reboot your phone and try downloading it again. That solved it for me.

I submitted this error, but I'm curious if anybody else gets it.
I try to send an email in outlook and try to attach two pictures from Photos.
After I select two pictures and tap done it takes me back to my email and it shows the outline of the two pictures but the second one always has zero bytes. If I send it, only the first picture actually shows up.

If I select four pictures, only two of them actually get attached... 6.. only 4 show up...

Very weird.

Phew, where to start.. loaded today's update on a 1520, lots of bugs. I did a full reset and restore from backup.

In both cases the tiles take up 75% of the width of the screen, and I can move tiles to the blank space on the right, i.e. four medium tiles next to each other. Anyone else?

Setting a start screen background it only covers about half the width of the screen.

Upon first start the language and region were in Chinese (I think) on this Hong Kong model, but panning the language list didn't work, it would just tap, not pan. Lots of tapping later I was back to region US, language US English.

On the start screen there is no way to tell whether an app has already been downloaded. Tapping tiles for not yet downloaded apps seems to do exactly nothing.

"show more tiles" on or off doesn't change anything.

Minor: Tap and hold the WiFi action toggle goes via start to the settings page, rather than directly to settings.

I can't find the battery saver action toggle.

I got kinda the same about the background and tiles.
When I set a background picture it shows it in full, not zoomed in like previous builds but after a while it only takes up about two thirds of the the screen with a huge black bar on the right and the tiles are very small with even smaller icons in them.

Got the Store (beta) but no Office apps listed, no OneDrive (greyed out). This is on a 1520, second install after hard reset from 1st install and hard reset and install. First install was atrocious for battery life and very hot. Kinda hard to install Office if not listed in Store beta or Store. I'll keep playing for a few more hours and do a recovery. Start menu not appearing

I installed windows 10 mobile technical preview on my phone (Lumia 535). Now it is not displaying the start menu, but i'm able to open settings and others from the quick action. I even tried doing a soft reset. Still, the start menu doesn't show up.

I think almost all versions of lumia phones are getting the start screen loading issue. Is there a proper fix to this now ?

First install.then hard reset.i did then 3 more hard reset to make it somewhat run less buggy..it lose net connectivity which turn on only after hardreset.but now no problem

This isn't just Lumias. I had the same issue with an HTC One. Tried umpteen soft resets then finally bit the bullet and did a hard reset. Hard reset fixed it. Caveat: when you do the hard reset the screen prompt will ask you to accept windows phone 8.1 terms. Don't freak out, it's really resetting 10 but for whatever reason it says 8.1.
