W10M Insider Preview 10586.218 Issues (Threshold branch)

Still blank icons for Groove Music and Weather in all apps list after update to .218 on L830. Blank icons appeared after upgrade from WP 8.1 with Insider Preview. No fix without hard reset?

Hello guys,
I keep seeing location icon turned on. I disabled manually permission to use location services for each app and yet still I see location icon shown.
Do you experience the same issue?
I am on Lumia 830 10586.218 build.

There's this feature in the phone called find my phone. It periodically checks your location and stores it so in the case of missing phone, you can find it at the last known location.

I tried the preview build on 1020 a long while ago. Just curious is W10 worth it for 1020 as a daily driver? Is MS being critical about user feedback and not officially updating 1020?

The 10586 branch is pretty solid. I'm using it on my 1020 for some time now. Known bugs are those that everyone is experiencing on all phones (these bugs are now just a couple)

What to do now some apps like WhatsApp have the backup option inside the app :-( and when tried to reinstall store keep on crashing when searched for an app

some have suggested doing a hard reset or going back to a stable build using wdrt. These are the risks we take testing an insider version of software/OS

anyone have an issue with the phone not charging via USB anymore? I've tried two different cables, plugs, and walls. It charges fine via wireless. This started just after the update last night. I have not hard reset the phone yet. I may have to try that. Just seems like a HUGE problem and i wonder if i'm the only one.

A soft reset fixes that issue, I had it on my 930.

I have the same but that said the built is stable. No issues so far.

This might be a stupid question, but Insider status is device-specific, right? I'm running W10M on my L1320 through Insider but I just bought a 950xl. I would have to join Insider specifically from the 950xl if I want preview builds on that phone, right?

I have found Battery life is not as good as previous build. Not sure if I should do a hard reset, it was running really well before update (great battery life).
Running very smooth now, just not as good with battery as previous build

We're in the same boat it seems. By the way, I checked video properties and you're right, the sound is in mono and not stereo. I record videos for the video aspect mostly and hence I didn't notice the issue with sound

After 10 minutes of checking 6tag, email, skype, slack, uc browser and whatsapp (wifi), 40 minutes of music with headphones, 3 images uploaded on 6tag (LTE), 1 minute of phone, 2 messages, 4 photos captured, 10 minutes of checking email, whatsapp, skype, slack and uc browser (2G) battery is down to 54%.

To others in the forum, is this light use or heavy use?

I'm on release; I should change? I can try that when I get home. Haven't done a hard reset for any build. Always direct upgrade from 8.1 to W10M.

Try switching now, effects aren't immediate, but it should reduce drainin more and more due to telemetry and autoreports

What i noticed on the latest 218 build with my L930 is that the battery is really crap, and the last 30% drops in an hour if i just leave it sitting. Also, a minute of phone usage heats up the phone really badly, which happened in 20 minutes heavy use before last 5 builds...

Last HR was almost a year ago, so i'm doing it tomorrow, but i will not go with insider this time.

Autoreports will disabled, and telemetry will be the same of official build, less intensive. In terbet works as always
