Warranty Exchange at the local Microsoft Store

Is it possible to go to the Microsoft store an do a warranty exchange there instead of going through the process of sending it to Texas? My Surface Pro 4 is the most standard one i5/8GB/256GB, so I would assume they should have one in stock for replacement.

Any feedback or previous experience will be appreciated, thanks

I question at a Microsoft store and they said once they have in stock and it is one of the standard models, they will replace it on the spot.

Thanks, I would assume that after 7 months they must have some stock, specially the i5/8/256, is the most standard one

How does it work for warranty exchange? Do you need the Complete warranty for them to do an exchange?
