Way to modify project my screen app

This is something I've wondered about for sometime.

Is it possible to modify the way project my screen works so that the screen resolution is increased? for example I have a lumia 1020 with a 768p screen. My surface 3 has a 1200p screen. So could the output from the phone be converted to a higher resolution so it looks better on my surface?
