WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I have a work conference today. I forgot how to get to the parking garage there but this is the same conference that essentially made me apply for the program I'm in now so I'm excited to see this go full circle today.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I had a sneaky suspicion that based on my Monday, it was going to be a long and taxing week emotionally.

Sadly, my suspicions didn't disappoint.

Take a different route home. Take the eff it train, it’s working for me.

During tough weeks like these, I really like to plug into my music to get me going to take th edge off. Every time I have to do that it seems like that's when the limitations of USB-C surface and I scream at the lack of a headphone jack.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Pulled a dinosaur out of the bag this evening. I had put 10 Pro on it late last year but it was slower the molasses in December. Using my Spin 1 earlier it got me thinking how well it runs on S-Mode with such low grade equipment that the Motion Computing LE1700 Stegosaurus has to be up to the task. I've yet to see any Atom-based CPU outrun a solid Core 2 Duo no matter how old so I fired it up and ran the updates. I was up and running in only 1-1/2 hours. Anyone who has had to catch up with more than an update or 2 knows this was good speed in spite of only 4GB of PC5300 RAM.

Somewhere between early Fall Creator Update and April 2018 Microsoft put some giddy-up into Windows 10. Considering this thing shipped with XP Tablet Edition, I'm mildly amused. At least I know that if I must use a 10 Pro rig to get some .exe prog going, I won't be disappointed.

I have a "newer" Motion J3400 slate that I use as my work PC but that one's on 7 Ultimate for all eternity. Fastest little booger I've ever used. Well, Windows anyway. 20180726_220553.jpg

Good luck with all that. It sure sounds like a huge pain.

I know you've used MacOS . Have you ever used Linux? If so, what distro?

It's an annoyance that apparently only a G7/V35 can currently fix. Saw a Nokia 8 recently at a good price but I may pass on that if I want to add a Mate 10 Pro instead.

It sounds like you need a device with a good headphone jack at some point this year.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Kinda bit of a strange day. Showed a young colleague my 950XL and how to work an Excel file on a spare 17in monitor via continuum (display dock, keyboard, mouse, pen drive)
He went a gaga and ask about price where he can get one!!
Had to tell him finding one in a shopping malls here is as easy as spotting rear-end droppings of a rocking horse!!

..!!

I tried Ubuntu. Coincidentally, the original HDD from that slate has Ubuntu on it. I put Windows on the SSD it has now.

Linux feels like I’m on DOS.
