WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Yeah, I'm kinda nervous about Paris, I won't lie. As for coding, I am very much a greenhorn at it, will be completely honest with you. But, it's quite interesting and have got some projects on the go. As for the confidence in public, one of the classes I'm doing with Specialist Autism Services is drama and theatre, and they're often doing performances in front of huge audiences (often doing them in theatres in the city, but I believe they sometimes travel to do them all over England too, welp), and as for my ability to communicate properly, that's what the other class at SAS is for. So yeah, while the mention of Toastmasters is definitely interesting, I'd say I've already got those bases covered!

That being said, keeping my options open is never a bad thing. I've got an assessment today for support with my mental health, so that should help too. All in all, we're going all forward. And now that I'm starting to get back into Microsoft tech, I'll be here more I reckon.
Sounds like you're putting yourself out there! That's what's important.

I've been to Paris twice. Would like to go again in the near future. It's a beautiful city. Won't be that crowded in February compared to other times of the year. Hope you get the chance to enjoy it a little.

I mentioned Toastmasters as another route if you need it. I thought about joining them myself as the company I'd worked for had a group and a discount for the membership. I don't have issues talking in front of a crowd mine would've been for refinement in my speaking.

Public speaking isn't easy and there's lots of people who rather be dead than speak in front of a crowd (lots of surveys indicate that more people have a fear of speaking in front of a crowd than dying).

In other words they'd rather be in the coffin than doing the eulogy. 🤣 (That's s stolen joke btw)

But good on you for getting out there. I could never do theater so that's just amazing.

Hope your assessment went well.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

It's been nice using a DAP again. Haven't been on the phone as much, nor have I been messing with it as much.

We'll see after a week how I fully feel. My Xiaomi Pistons HD have been the surprising fit headphones wise.

Cool! Glad to hear that it seems to be working out so far.

Gonna blast me some freeway of love remix today.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Some hands on thoughts from B&H:

1) Well done Xiaomi. Nice to see that Mi Mix 2 S on the show room floor. I instantly notice the subtle changes from the Mix 2 (they're really minor, excluding the hump).

2) LG is high on something I don't. I Ike the V35 but the in-hand feel is the same as the V30/S (which is good in this case). I understand that all 3 models aren't targeted for the same market, but when you have all 3 on the same showroom floor, you cannot help but wonder why I couldn't get a V35 in Moroccan Blue (among other things)?

3) I'm impressed by the XZ2. In hand feel is really nice. The blacks for an IPS screen are very impressive indeed. The fingerprint scanner placement is a bad joke, like the no 3.5mm move. Otherwise, another Sony phone - although, like Sense, the launcher looks dated. Guess that's why they finally killed it.

4) Really like the Mate 10 Pro. Prefer the in-hand feel of the Mi Mix 2 more though. They're very close in dimensions. Perhaps I'm biased due to being a Mix 2 owner; I would have no problem jumping to a Mate 10 Pro though. I could easily see myself the brown people combo: a Mocha Mate 10 Pro + a Watch 2 classic with brown straps.

5) Prefer the XZ2 over the Pixel 2 from an in-hand feel perspective. The former feels nice to use sans case and the fingerprint scanner placement doesn't feel as ****ed up as on the XZ2.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So far my gripes with the DAP remained unchanged. Sound is clean, loud enough (inferior to the V series DAC). The screen is garbage and the playlist management in the UI is so-so.

Looks good, battery life is solid and produces a loud enough and clean enough sound - especially on my commute. A good buy, as long as I keep it away from water.

The best part about today's trip was that I saw no game changers in the store. There was nothing I would bust my *** to go and get 10 minutes from now. I think that at the right price for different reasons, I'd be happy with a XZ2, Mate 10 Pro or LG V35/G7 as a daily driver. I'm fine with waiting until November, especially if the DAP ages nicely.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I think I did something that I probably regret. I was curious about the whole Q thing and what it stands for. so I went to reddit and there was a great post talking about it and then I went down the rabbit hole. I felt as I lost brain cells by Reading some reddit posts. I am never going back to the great awaking , the Donald or conspiracy.

I'm amazed that B&H sells Xiaomi phones now! Anyway, interesting impressions!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Yay the biggest parts of my project were just graded and I got full points for it!! Now the presentation grade is left but I'm on track to finishing strong!

My professor is really on it. I finished everything today (the feedback responses to my presentation) and it has been graded! I got all of the points on my presentation so I have secured an A+!!

I'm so glad to be done with school for a week! \o/

The whole Q thing was weird when I heard/read about it. Funny how they picked a Star Trek character name. It's really odd how it's meshed with 45 and his group. Just goes to show who voted for this person and continues to support him regardless of what he's doing to the country.

Conspiracy theories are odd enough and I'm always surprised when I hear of new ones and ones that continue to hang around regardless how many times they've been proven to be wrong.

My two favorites are cheamtrails and HAARP. The fact that people don't understand what water vapour is and that there are more jets flying these days just confused me. Then that people think HAARP could actually create earthquakes and change weather... SMH...

What is required in school more than anything else is critical thinking skills. Better school texts and money for the school system...

Unfortunately with home schooling so huge in the US I don't see things improving any time soon so regardless what happens with schools there will be a large uninformed group of people living in bubbles created by their parents.

Don't get me started on the Christian home schoolers...

Sigh. What a world.

Not gonna say "I told you so", but...

Well done.

Thank you!

Lol, well imposter syndrome (which is something I learned about in this class) is real. For the final project, I was confident in my creation but going through my classmates presentations had me feel like I did it wrong somehow initially, even though there isn't a way to do it wrong since it is a visual with resources that can look however you want it to.
Seeing the feedback on my presentation from my classmates made me feel better.
