WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So I'm done with the Note 4. Got an Essential Phone coming thanks to Scienceguylabs...and I'm looking forward to that, even though I can't use it as a phone. My work responsibilities have shifted for a bit temporarily and some parts of the building have weaker reception so having WiFi calling on a supported phone is helpful.
I finally get people who say that they need that. I didn't doubt it before, but being able to relate is a whole another thing.

Talk about collective conscience. I picked up one of Andy's phones myself today. Mostly because I wanted a slice of Pie to see what all the hubbub's about. Nice phone but there are some things broken with 9 - specifically Samsung Gear apps. My Gear S3 is not up to its usual level of performance. Hopefully an update is in the works.

Ha ha. Yep. I am holding my new, white Essential Phone right now. Too bad this many people didn't buy one this time last year.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Whoa, way too many (un) Essential phones floating around

It's not a bad phone at all. There are some quirks but nothing that can't be resolved via app. For example, I don't care for the stock launcher with Pie so I put the BlackBerry Launcher. The swipe up for the app drawer requires a Shaq-sized thumb because the travel is so long. I wished they had gone all in webOS-style and used a gesture area instead of a back button and a home/recent app fustercluck combination. Aside from that (so far) is the sorry excuse for a contacts app that Pie brings. No merging method for dupes and no way to select a default contact photo. It populates whatever the f**k it wants and you'll enjoy it. Not exactly, BlackBerry Contacts to the rescue.

It's s**t like this that makes me miss W10M and makes it entirely impossible to not have one laying around.

Because of how bare bones it is, Andy's phone is a great one to Blackberry-ize or MSFT-ize, if you're dependent on services from those two brands.

Wow no way! Congrats!

I've been keeping an eye opener for that one.
Almost snagged one of the copper colored ones the other day.
I'd be ok with that Halo grey too. I won't lie: every time I go into Best Buy and touch their display unit, I smile...I really enjoyed mine. I would get another time but I essentially don't have the space for it.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Since it has been so quiet before lately, I haven't shared much in terms of dating. I had another date, yes another after the other night. We really like each other and I can tell that he really cares for me, he's really one of a kind. I told him the biggest thing the previous date and he said that we'll work it out and he still wants to see me (he obviously did lol). Normally, I would be like yeah no but it's totally different, in a way that I didn't expect to ever happen.

I'm a little nervous about seeing someone and doing the grad school thing and working but being with someone who is considerate and patient makes this a possibility worth exploring. The calm I feel (with him) is everything, along with other things, of course. It's kind of an adjustment to feel this way about someone again, as it has been years.

Pie sucks. Too many things broken for my tastes. Google Pay - no go. Gear S plugin, Samsung Pay for the Gear S3 - no way Jose. Offline dictionary for Dictionary.com - f**k no.

Luckily downgrading back to Oreo 8.1 is easy and painless. Andy's website provides all the proper images AND most important - download the Windows drivers from the Essential website. Standard Android USB drivers won't work.

This is great to know, thank you! That sucks that so much is broken though
