WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I'm running around getting little things fixed on my car. Tire rotation and balance now. One of the windows has peeling tint film so that's next. Also the paint is peeling off pretty badly on the Toyota so I'm thinking of getting it painted. The interior is pristine even though the car is almost 12 years old.

The Acura is going to be sold off. Even the mechanic doesn't seem to be too Keen to work on it

lol I would too... in an alternate universe! :D

Thanks Mia
I always like the Charger name but preferred the Challenger's looks.

I'm a Viper man through and through though, with all due respect to the Charger and Challenger.

Man, I'm not very excited about anything design wise that's coming out this year. I was curious to see what Huawei was doing, and based on the leaks, I'm better off getting a Mate 10 series device. It's not about the notch either as I don't care about that.

Just not a fan about the design directions of the industry.

I feel likewise and don't plan on getting anything new at this time.

Same here. We're definitely in the doldrums as far as design is concerned. Actually, there's no groundbreaking feature I've seen for a few years now. Probably Apple's Face ID but that's it.

Oddly enough, people like this retro S6 Edge design (Nokia 8 Sirocco, Sony XZ3, Mate 20 Pro - if true).

So far the G7 design is growing on me, even though I wished it wasn't so tall. Outside of that or a Mate 10, there's nothing that's an upgrade from the kiddie battery in my Pixel 2.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I'm going to stay put with the Pixel 2 XL.

Having said that, the spare line is going to see some decent action in the next couple of weeks.
Note 9, Mi A2 and Pocophone F1.

That's why it is a spare line, lol.

My issue with the Pixel 2 has always been the same - battery is too small. Outside of that, it's a nice phone.

Good luck with those trial phones. I'd like a new tablet to put the Mix 2 into collector's edition.

I think the Huawei MediaPad M5 would be something you would have liked.

I'm hearing good things about the Tab S3 LTE as well.

That's earmarked for the GF. If I were going for maximum storage at the cost of the headphone jack, I'd have gone there too.

I know what route I'm going tablet wise.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I got MIUI 10 today, as I'm on the global stable. I see some of the elements that are Google inspired. It's still a little too messy for me, but I can deal with it.

I've gone back to my 6S Plus after breaking my 7 Plus and have been just fine. Though I do miss the 7 Plus' awesome camera sometimes. I guess I'll pay the deductible and get my 7 Plus replaced soon, but that's about it. Not falling for the new phone thing again any time soon!

Same.

At this time, the only thing I can see myself doing at some point is possibly getting the XZ2 Compact again and switching carriers (yes, the two have to go together in order for me to use it). Otherwise, I'm not interested in anything. Everything is too tall and/or big for me to care about seeking or trying it.

Additionally:
1) I'm kind of sentimental right now so I like having all of the texts (and first interactions) from my guy on the same phone. I didn't get it before, but I get it now.
2) My mom keeps having to travel internationally and WhatsApp is a pain to try to transfer chats between iOS and Android.

Edit: While I did get the Essential Phone, I have no plans to use it as a phone. It's an excellent reading device.

Ooh I'm curious to what you'll do about that.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Got locked into the office today working late by the cleaning person.

So I'm at my desk, charting and calling people like crazy because I don't go to work for 3 days. The cleaning guy, in his habit, locked the door behind him after talking to me in the room. That office door once locked cannot be opened from the inside.

So I call security to let me out. Here's the transcript:

1st call:

MIA: Hi, I'm an employee here at (blank). I'm locked inside my office as the cleaning person locked the door behind him.
Security: Oh, Ok.
MIA: Can you send someone to unlock the door?
Security: Ok, sure.

(MIA, waits for 15 minutes, hears keys jingling on the floor outside for a few minutes, then silence.)

2nd call (half hour later):

MIA: Hey, I'm the employee who called earlier. Can you send someone?
Security: We sent someone earlier and they didn't see you.
MIA: That's because I'm locked INSIDE the office and am trying to get out.

Moral of the story:

- Routines can get you in trouble
- Always pay attention
- Don't be a hero and work late
