So celebration dinner finally for getting the job close to Paris. Just haven't had a chance to do this. This is a nice restaurant in Versailles.

So we got the surprise five course menu.

1 - cress soup with escargot
2 - Scallops with pumpkin
3 - cod with bok choi and curry sauce
4 - roasted lamb with fruit and nuts
5 - their take on a pavlova and macerated mandarin (it was nice but not a fan of citrus)

Overall 4/5 - cod dish was a bit over cooked and dessert was average. Also more pricey than it should be.

Service was excellent.

I think this is more of just being in a situation where I want a day in the week to be able to test or go to appointments. In my line of work, it is harder to reset over two days.

I'm at a point where I'm not as interested as I used to be in going through the hassle of reselling devices. This likely means I'll keep my G7+. If I am able to send the 8 home to my uncle, I may get something else later on in the year.

Call me old, call me lazy...that's where I am right now.

I'm at a point where I'm not as interested as I used to be in going through the hassle of reselling devices. This likely means I'll keep my G7+. If I am able to send the 8 home to my uncle, I may get something else later on in the year.

Nah, it's understandable. It is really a lot to resell and I stand with that. Sometimes it can go as fast as selling a piece of furniture and other times, not so much. Never mind the shipping as well.

I remember how long it took me to sell the 950 and ugh that was a lot. Lots of people seem interested but then don't follow through.

I do feel that radios (lack of full LTE support) aside, 9.0 (if done correctly), could improve the G7+'s performance. I wish we could remap the G. Assistant button (I'd put the G cam port there and leave the regular shortcuts for the standard camera in place). The performance itself isn't bad, but they didn't tune the display to be as power efficient as it could be at lower levels. I do want the ability to turn off the UX gestures and keep my nav buttons.

It doesn't have that blistering fast feeling that a G5 had. I didn't mind that it looked comparatively boring. If LG had stated "we really are going to push AI" and put the cam app in the store and updated it more often to make the AI features robust, I'd have been cool with it. I k ow they want to be more out of the way with their approach...but pricing solid hardware just below market leaders as a "cheaper alternative" doesn't cut it.

I just think that LG isn't offering good price to value ratio. That's why people wait them out as their value drops like stones. It's also why for resale reasons, you don't get much as a seller. Alwayers buyers' phones in the second market, really.

The phone isn't unsellable. I've sold other stuff that's more unsellable than this before. I just don't feel as willing to deal with it. Don't feel as willing to go crazy for something else, either.

I'd do a trade and pay a few bucks for something else...but all the G7+ has over the common G7 is the extra RAM, Sim slot and internal storage. How attractive is that? (Not trashing the phone here, just being honest).

If I savvy bargain shop, I can get a common G7 for $275 refurbished/overstock. Just not as willing to deal with the extra haggling.

Thanks. I think I'll keep it around. The radios will annoy me, but that's how it goes.

Maybe this year LG will go 128GB + 6GB RAM as their global standard. I'm not sure what the hell they are doing, as it seems like the V50, G8 and the foldable phone will be their headliners this year. Someone needs to club management over the head a few times so they can get smarter.

I'm very curious as to how things will shake out this year. For all the pushing for punch hole displays, foldable products, and phones getting more expensive, I wonder what will happen when overall volume continues to decline?

Staying within brand, it'll be hard making the jump from the S8 to the S10. Not sure if HTC will offer much that would make U11 upgrades stay with the brand. G6 to G8 may be an upgrade for sure. Oneplus 5/5T to 7...maybe, not sure. Mi 6 to Mi 9...likely.

The problem though is that there are a ton of good mid rangers and some of last year's flagship are better buys.

Sounds like a good mix for buyers, really.

So one of my professors has a loose layout (he will announce the deadlines and assignments as we go on in the course) for the course which is annoying. No one objected so all I can do is plan my life outside of school and adjust accordingly.

You might shake your head at this but he asked us (a class of 16) if anyone objects and no one said anything so I felt weird about being the one to do so.

Also in this class, I'm the only female that looks like me (by this, I mean my race; all the others are white) so I felt some kind of way. This doesn't always play into things but there's times when I have that in mind.

In Trump's 'Murica this is the new normal. Being female is bad enough, being a Black female counts as strike 2. But look at the bright side, at least you're not Latina like AOC.

Believe me, they hate me more for my last name than they hate you for the color of your skin. We're the new Bogeyman but I'm insulated by living in Miami. I feel bad for all the good, decent White people that have been lumped in with 45's deplorables through no fault of their own.
