WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

China itinerary involves the following cities - Guangzhou, Guilin and Beijing.
Work in Guangzhou but a bit of sightseeing prior to showing up for work so expect some interesting pictures.
One day in Guilin and I plan to ride the bullet train so expect those pictures as well.
Then take a one way flight to Beijing. My coworker's wife is from Beijing and they will give me the name of a contact who will take me sightseeing at the less crowded location of the Great Wall. Also Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are on the agenda. And then back to the USA.

Busy busy! I also wish you safe travels.

The Razer Hammerhead wireless headphones look interesting. I like the Sabbat but the issue is the call quality.

Hope it works out for you. While I'm open to getting one, I'm not sure when. Was yours a dual Sim or single Sim model?
It was dual SIM. It's a frustrating device but I'm sure you know that already. You will probably find some things easier to cope with than my wife did though, like the lack of camera button.

Not that I don't want to sell it to you but I do hope I just get my money back.

Here are a couple photos of one of the dogs at the kennel. Both she and I had a blast playing with a ball in the play yard.

Just received an email saying they now have the phone and are inspecting it. Not sure how long this is going to take...

No worries. Getting your money back directly is the smoothest way. I ask because with that phone I know that there are supposedly single and dual Sim models - I've only seen the dual Sim ones.

I've only seen dual SIM as well when we were looking at them initially. Didn't understand the lack of SD support when you're going dual SIM.

They cheaped out to make it a promotional phone. Wished they went either 128GB + SD card or 256GB internal.

Today there were 3 threads and 5 posts requiring approval.
One was legit, the rest got canned. Oh and whilst browsing the threads I canned a couple more spammers.
The highlight was someone spamming a Lumia 800 thread from 2011, now that's what I call a blast from the past. The second best was someone spamming a Nokia tablet running Windows RT from 2013.

Fun times indeed.

I thought you were still using that Nokia RT tablet...

I'll take a look at that article on my phone later. I can't access that site without a VPN.

I grew up in public housing. Thankfully Toronto never got into the project idea so public housing generally was incorporated into neighbourhoods. There were of course spots of public housing and apartments with all the issues that go with them. Projects are a really bad idea.

Australia did projects however. Outer western suburbs of Sydney were notorious. My wife lived part of her early life in one of them. Those projects have now been bulldozed and new modern housing has been created. Gentrification reaches ever further out. Public housing these days in Australia is now different but like everywhere else, demand outstrips supply.

One of the interesting quirks here in France and it's good for renters but bad for the people who invest. You can take it as one of the more socialist ideas in France. France is more socialist than most countries.

In France renters cannot be evicted in the winter time, it's against the law. Also to evict anyone is a very long and drawn out process.

So that's one of the reasons why renting here in France is so painful. That and they haven't changed their renting criteria to deal with the idea of contract workers, even in Paris. Modern times old ideas about work. Yeah.
I just did a home visit for someone. If I could post the pictures here, I would. The bathroom is where the bulk of the work that needs to be done where the client is using duct tape to cover a hole big enough in the wall I can fit my hand in. Heaven help them if she gets an NYC rat (some are as big as small cats) in there, it's over. Yes, there's mold. Yes, there's need for exterminator - roaches. Yes the person is asthmatic. I feel itchy and I stood in the apartment the whole time.

And of course the landlord wants the rent on time.
