WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So...the GF is thinking about the upgrade. She is still on contract and wants to cling to her contract like tio wants to cling to a blemish free legacy.

I cut through the shenanigans - S10+ 128GB, blue color. She's gonna inquire about it and try to get it outright to save her contract (even though she is out of contract).

She is enjoying her Galaxy Buds though.

Ooh those sound like great gifts all around!
She loves the earrings (will ear them next week) and will test drive her pillows tonight. She took a picture of the shades she didn't pick when we went to the lipstick place about two years ago and will likely go back to get one of those. Smart lady.

That's good! I'm glad to hear that the Buds are working for her. I think she'll like the S10+. There should be a way hopefully. And it just got Android 10 which is just a little nicer than Android 9. So far, my favorite thing is a feature that I missed from iOS, which is to only enable location while using the app, rather than always or never.

I'm now able to add a potential neighborhood to my list, based on an open house I saw recently. The home I saw checked off a lot of positives (affordable mortgage, low HOA, available parking, good size bedrooms, access to 2 major routes). The only cons for me are the ability to walk to places (you can do a jog/run/walk here but not a distance that I can get to any store by foot in 15 to 20 minutes) and distance. It takes nearly double the time to get to work (I have a somewhat short commute), and to/from the city (the time it takes to do this has increased).

Seeing this home gave me motivation to keep at my goal.

I think so too. She wouldn't have the battery anxiety she currently does sometimes.

She was thinking about getting a Galaxy S model next year. I just laughed and asked her if she REALLY wants to pay out of her nose for a 5G model, and have Verizon hit her up with a 5G plan.

Once the income goes up, the choices get wider...stay the course and hope you get to your goal soon enough.

You saved her on that one. I hope she'll keep your advice in mind.

Thank you! It's funny that you say that, since that is the goal after graduation soon. I just don't know where and how that will look like. I would still prefer to live under my means because I have plans. I don't know how my romantic future will look like, but I have other things aside from that.

Buy your house and sign a pre nup to keep the house to yourself when the time comes.

@MSFTisMIA, please do post a picture of your GF's new earrings. I love the colour blue, so I'm sure they are beautiful. I hope she will also enjoy her new S10+. I'm very happy with mine, and I really like the new gestures on 10/OneUI 2.

Thanks for the link. I'd love to go to an organ concert at that church.
A friend of ours did that recently.

A lot of the outside of the church has been restored (mainly the side in the picture) but the inside looks like it needs some attention as well as the back side of the cathedral.

The physical button layout is laughable. At least she can swap back to the regular onscreen ones if she dislikes the pill. I thought moto and one plus did the best job (Xiaomi and Huawei afterwards) with gestures...
Yeah I had to go find out how to do that. Of course Sony had their own ideas...

I haven't changed it for her yet. She may want to keep it as is.

I personally think the physical layout is fine but I'm not a fan of the fingerprint scanner. It's working way better than it used to but I miss the power button one.

Ah I give her props. That would be annoying to me. I prefer Samsung's way, even though that was an adjustment too.
I don't know why they keep changing things so much.

I get they're trying to get away from clutter or whatever the excuse is. Or make it more Apple like.

Not sure.

As long as the option to have them remains in fine. I haven't tried Q yet so I can't say if I like it or not.

Not to sound like a person who hates change or anything but I think navigation on a device is a personal thing and I think having options is good.

Not everyone wants to have pure gesture based navigation.

Change for change sake seems to be the norm though in products

Lots of things do this simply because they think people get bored or something. Or they're not attracting new customers.

Not sure what the mentality is.

I'm all for package update etc and modernising things in looks but just to say 'new and improved' (typically isn't) or is worse... Sucks.

Also I find products get discontinued a lot or renamed. Especially women's products. My wife has lost a lot of products she liked over the years. She finds it very frustrating.

We're reducing that kind of thing anyway but still...

I'm in agreement with you on this kind of thing. Options really are better.
