I don't even care about 5G right now, to be honest. It's not that I don't think it will be helpful, it's just this rollout is so haphazard to me that it almost isn't worth following.

It's not so much the roll out but the technology itself.

Small wavelength is an issue for large scale transmission.

It's better for health (unlike what the nutters will tell you) but the simple fact is it will not be as effective as they claim.

I don't trust some of these voters as much as I don't trust the current administration. It's a scary time to live in, really.

America has been a messed up place for a very long time but it's current incarnation is definitely not pretty.

It's not valued the same way as medical. So when my colleagues on the inpatient floors who work more closely with the doctors pull rank, there are times I just shake my head because all it does is make my job harder than it needs to be.

I'm having to work too hard to get the basics done. That's my current problem. No matter how smart I work, it still ends up having me work too hard, with terrible supervision on top of it.

I doubt it. I'm fine with the current speeds. I'm too busy worrying about the cluster**** that's 'Murican life offline to be concerned about 5G.

This has to do with how my profession is viewed historically that constantly. Do a search in Google scholar on "social welfare policy history/introduction" or "who is the deserving poor".

I'm too annoyed right now to talk about unavoidable intersections of race that's involved in there too. If you do the reading you can draw your own conclusions.

Me: I need a new work mobile phone.

Management: Replacement takes 1-2 weeks.

Me: This **** will likely take a month due to COVID-19.

Management: Yeah, it's a longer turnaround.

What an inconvenience. In theory I could stick the SIM into a phone or use a temporary number, but that's blah blah unsecured blah blah blah hospital policy. So I'll ask if I can use my Mi 9. They may say no, but we will see.

If they approve it, I have to do a back up of my current setup for the Mi 9 and wipe it for the hospital to use. I kinda don't want to have emails on there, but I may need to see if they'll approve a Chinese device. A pity that the 9 Pureview doesn't have the CDMA bands.

I wanted an unlocked NAM LG for situations like this. If I did have that, it wouldn't be an issue. I doubt they'll approve it and have me work even more restricted, but I shall not be no "doubting Thomas" yet.

Speaking of the virus, classes are cancelled for a week after Spring break where I work and where I go to school. I don't feel joy about it at all. Two of my classmates are glad for the extended spring break, but unlike me, none of them are graduating. I'm concerned about how this will work for that.

Study, read, write any papers you need to during that break. Wouldn't be surprised if some professors acted like turds and stood firm on deadlines for end of semester assignments.

Thank you for this advice. I plan to do that, at least with the writing. I emailed my online professor to ask what this looks like for class. He told me that he'll update the syllabus and share what this means on Friday. With my in-person class, we set our deadlines so I'll just work on the next assignment.

Just reminding you to be smart with your usage of the time. Trust me, some professors will be tools about it.
