I haven't got a clue what's going to happen today or this week.

I'm going into work. I'm taking the car. But have no idea if I'll leave with a laptop, etc or not.

If I don't I have to go in tomorrow and possibly Wednesday.

The plan currently, until an official lockdown comes, we're working in thirds. So we're rotating through the office different days of the week.

I've never worked from home in my industry and it's not common at all even though the technology to do so had been. There's definitely a trust thing attached to it and I know from other companies a cost associated. Engineering firms charge customers based on expertise in house, literally.

So a new experience but one that won't last one things return to 'normal'

So rumour is the lockdown is coming tomorrow. The government thinks the populace isn't taking this seriously enough.

Yesterday everyone was out because the weather was so nice. But it just increased the possibility of more transmission.

Anyway, I'm working from home starting tomorrow. I'm taking my desktop home.

Strange times.

Today IT is supposed to be helping everyone get set up to work from home. I'm likely going to head into the office later as there were a couple things I'm missing. I'm sure it will be lost on the lack of clarification on my work phone situation in the larger push to transition people.

It is interesting times indeed.

So to talk of other things...

Recently moved my wife's website hosting. What a pain. It's 2020. I don't quite understand why it takes 3 days for this...

Thankfully it didn't affect Google ranking but three days without traffic is not great.

Along with that we bought Office 365 for business. It had exchange so we also cancelled email services we had. This also took a day to fix. I waited three days before the transfer but it was still being held by the old provider...

So I had my first experience with Exchange. It's been a long time since I did anything with network admin stuff as well.

Overall it was easy but for some reason one of the emails I created got really messed up and I still have no idea how it happened. Took me two hours to figure out how to fix it. I was not impressed.

Anyway, it's all working now.

We also bought my wife a new computer recently. Her old one is having network issue that I think are hardware related.

Still going to see if it can be fixed. Not sure though.

In any case overall it wasn't too bad but I can't believe the hassle.

Yeah, I heard people were out and about galavanting like crazy in the good weather this weekend. I actually saw that yesterday when I walked to a local bakery where people were in the park. You always gotta have some asshats - it wouldn't be life without that.

Having said that, the observant could tell that this was very different, as the same sort of buzz and energy was missing.

Yesterday they were out in force. Places that were supposed to be closed we're open. People were in large crowds. Was a bit crazy. It was like nothing was happening.

However today had changed things...

People went mental at the grocery stores and other places. It got real for them I guess.

Unfortunately even though the officials are all saying the food situation etc is fine now one is listening.

Panic has set in. More with losing access than anything is else. It's a fully selfish thing.

I suppose it was that one last stab. People were hoping it wasn't as bad as they thought.

But in many ways, it is. Keeping calm and following instructions are the best thing to do right now. The smart thing would be to take only what's needed to allow for supplies to be replenished smartly. But it's the fear that drives the gluttony that will get the foods supply system jammed up.

The cases here are doubling daily now...

The death rate climbed.

It's not a good thing but people are so nonchalant about it.

Still too many comparing this to flu.

Ever watched any of those panic movies with people being cavalier in the beginning? Yup, I think people may be leaning on this too much.

The speaker set up on the Mi 9 feels a bit weird. USB-C hasn't impressed me at all either. I may just use the T1x to do my work. I could also get away with the Sabbats at home because it's so quiet.

It's weird that a few weeks ago, I was saddened about not being able to attend any concerts this season. I didn't expect for that to work out.

Dang, my state just announced that gatherings of 50 or more are banned and bars, restaurants, theaters and gyms are closed starting at 5pm today. He already announced that racetracks, casinos and the like are shut down. I appreciate my governor for continuing to provide 2 free meals to children who need them and banning utility, cable, and internet companies from shutting off service, along with not allowing evictions to proceed during this time.

Sounds like they're following the pace set by NY and CA. Solid work.
