I'm curious about some of the changes the European commission in reference to tech. First, the push to one charging cable standard (USB-C) and then removable batteries. We know Apple has been fighting to keep selling devices using lightning ports.

I'm in agreement with the EU here. One charging standard is helpful to cut down waste. OEMs won't like it though.

As boring as some may find it, I do like watching animal based documentaries. Good to learn more about the planet we're destroying with pollution.

No one claims it's easy. What I may say is the more one works on oneself, the increased the likelihood of drawing a better pool of people to pick through and then find that. While even that guaranteed, it's a bit better than "swipe, left, swipe right."

I have heard this. I can agree somewhat, from experiences I have heard about. In my recent dating experience, that hasn't always been true for me. I could attract a better person ideally but there can still be other big issues, like hiding something massive.

There will always be potential issues, because two people with two different experiences are getting going through a process to see if they can make a life together.

Again, sounds like the jilted of I didn't know better...thats often where the "all opposite gender (men) are nothing good!"

I wonder how this will work...

That's true. I think there are certain issues that are understandable and maybe even expected. To me, that's in a different category from that.

I think an example would help with the point I'm trying to make. Dating/seeing someone who has a very different culture from you on how they view certain things (let's say spiritual beliefs and practices) can be a potential issue. That is understandable. However, it's very different if you are seeing someone who is hiding something about their actual identity, like their real age, or status, or having children.

I could definitely say that I wouldn't be one to say that the opposite gender is bad/trash, because that's false. People, regardless of gender, can be trash or not trash. It's person dependent. I have too many examples in my life to believe otherwise. My coworker feels this way though and I can't relate.

This is something everyone who date has to navigate and find their own way to deal with. It's not an easy thing to deal with. Some people can appreciate honesty, some don't. It's why I stated you can only stay in touch with your needs and keep the lines of communication open with the other person. Everything else is the adventurous crap shoot.

Yep you're right. Occasionally, I question if it is worth it for me.

What's scary is not that we get things wrong. We all do that sometimes. What's really scary is believing we're right, and making critical decisions, when we're not.

I keep seeing all these news outlets taking about what to do during the lockdown since we'll have so much time....

I have no idea what they're taking about. I'm still working...

I feel you on that. I feel like there's 3 splits of working people right now. There's group 1, who like you are working from home. Group 2 has to go in to work, and Group 3 doesn't have a job that can be done from home in any way, so they are waiting with or without pay and there might be job uncertainty. I know a lot of group 1s personally and professionally, I know many group 3s.

Edit: Group 3 includes educators like my sister. She has certainty but all she can do is wait.

You've got to pack your own bags at whole paycheck. Was able to get a few things. Some shelves are still bare. It wasn't terrible. I'll lay low again until next week. I typically shop on Sundays so this isn't a big thing for me. Some items are creeping back: was able to get pasta, pasta sauce. The leafy greens were questionable, but that's typical for this location as it's one of those whole paycheck 365 locations they kept open after phasing out the concept.

Good news is I can do a Paddy's day roast sans cabbage. May just call it a beer inspired Paddy's brisket with carrots, potatoes and onions. There are signs up where certain items are limited per shopper. Makes sense as people probably were acting like idiotas. I saw something recently where some people at Costco went on buying and when they tried to return it, Costco said no.

I'm glad I waited to replenish. A few things I needed weren't there, but am hopeful they return come next week. Don't think I'll venture to the regular two stores I use as they're bigger and get more foot traffic.

Lol.

I have many thoughts on this, but dang it's rough having to be isolated and be single. Even so, I refuse to be with someone just because I wanted to be in a relationship. I have seen this play out too many times and it always ends badly. I did that once, and while I learned from it, the experience wasn't worth having at all. It was bad.

Each individual experience helps form a better criteria of what’s acceptable or unacceptable in your future relationships. Both lists get reprioritized and eventually don’t change much.

I suspect it will simply provide initial adapter free and then offer replacements for sale @ $19 or $29 as usual.

Since Costco is known for never saying no, it’s good to see even they have their breaking point.
