I'm sorry to hear that. How long you been with vzw...?
I'm not. My work phone is from Verizon. When I put my work SIM in there at the start of COVID-19, it ran great with full LTE. Just didn't get voicemails because I didn't configure it.

It runs just fine on T-mobile, which I use for personal. The Mi Note 2 ran fine on Verizon too.

Yeah I find it bizarre how some regions rely more heavily on bands 2 and 4 or even 17 over band 12 or 66. I attribute that to age of towers. Perhaps t-mobile pioneered a lot of their network back east. Out here band 2 and 4 are trash, at least the last couple times I had to explicitly rely on them. Trash compared to the later bands mentioned...

T-Mobile “inherited” the PCS bands (2 & 4) from AT&T when the merger failed. Those towers were built by Ma Bell God knows when. They were part of the 3G refarming that expanded their footprint and put them on the map. Had that attempted merger never happened, TMO would be as insignificant as a pimple on MIA’s uncle’s fat a**.

There it is. Good ole history lesson that was needed. My assumption was partially true

That's why my voter's reg says "no party affiliation" . I can rag on any side with extreme prejudice. Your statement regarding Democrats is typical in that you assume that " if you ain't one of us, you must be one of them".

That's what I did in 1988 when I turned 18 and then found out that as closed primary state, I couldn't vote in primaries. Fixed that only for that reason. I'll change to either party now to vote against who I don't like on either side occasionally. I'm as much Libertarian as R/D on certain issues.

So the only exciting thing that happened today was we took our cat to the park for a walk.

We bought a pet carrier backpack to take her there safely and the let her walk on a leash.

Yes our cat is trained to walk in a leash. She's not always accommodating but typically she's happy to be out.

Walking a cat is not like walking a dog.

We know she misses being out in nature which is why were doing it. Because of the pandemic we didn't want to take her out. But feel it's safer now.

Also taking her out earlier will be the other thing. She's a bit skittish some times.

How does your cat react around dogs?

For the sake of simplicity, if I was buying a phone right now, the Pixel 4A and iPhone SE2 would be on the short list. If I were doing this for the business, I'd get both. Good camera, solid updates, good performance.

This is officially my favourite meme. It reminds me of a bit of one of David Cross comedy standup shows.
Minus the pirate... Though I like that bit.

It's so true.FB_IMG_1592034879708.jpg

I wouldn't eat roadkill, but I've had rabbit and venison. The venison was from a friend of my family.
I worked in a cocoa estate, like decades ago The property was next to permanent forest reserves. Had consumed my share venison, wild boar, squirrels... mind, I had proper license to use a double barrel Beretta. Man, it now feels a life time ago. I detested hunting. I left the pest patrol along the borders to a hunter who uses traps and homemade spears, bow & arrows.... Spicy wild boar curry and spaghetti bolognaise with venison was frequently on the menu!!

Well, your uncle would tell you there are no pimples on his ***. And since his current wife upgraded her prenup to cement her piece of the pie, she won't be any help to corroborate that story either...

I was thinking of rabbit vindaloo while reading this. Glad I'm not completely crazy.

I can care less about 5g too but no band 17 12 or any other major GSM band is an instant decision maker for me.
Here's the thing though...if 5G was an important right now, Apple would have released the SE2 with a 5G radio. I think they know that with how cluster**** the rollout here is in the US, there's still some time where they could get mileage from that design and radio combinations. I don't think it'll take another 4 years for the SE3, but if Apple weren't confident they could still support these LTE phones, they wouldn't release them.

At some point in 5 years when band 2 and 4 or migrated/upgraded to 5G then maybe I'd buy a Chinese branded/marketed device. Until then am stuck with global or north America variants of androids.
I agree that there is time. Truth be told, all cellphones are depreciating assets way worse than cars. It's for this reason I like my stable as their non phone related features are strong enough where when they get to drawer status I can still enjoy them in flight mode.

The only issue there is that the batteries are sealed so if I do replacements, the IP ratings will likely be compromised.

Plus, my next NA variant 5G model will really only be for the basics.

I keep seeing the price drops on the Mate 20 RS... I finally ordered the NM card to test out on my regular Mate 20 Pro. While I'm 95% sure I won't get the Mate 20 RS, the enthusiast part of me wishes I could. I really like that styling and always wanted a porsche design unit.
