WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Happy belated birthday to you! Did you do anything nice for your birthday?

I don't make a big deal about birthdays but the wifey likes to. When I hit 50 it was a big deal because I'm the first male from my father's side to make it there. My brother and all my male cousins were gone in their 30s and 40s due to natural causes except my cousin Joey who was killed in Afghanistan by an IED. I came close at 46 when I had my heart attack but the Good Lord wasn't ready for me just yet.

That makes sense. That's amazing that you have made it so far. May you continue to have more blessed birthdays!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So I'm unsure about the XZ2 Compact. You all know how I am with my phones and that my phone concerns are: battery life, height, cameras and performance.

The size is great and surprisingly enough, the cameras including the front are somewhat comparable to the iPhone 7. Performance is great too, no issues. I have issues with the battery life. Coming from the XZ1C which had great battery life, XZ2C doesn't seem to have it at all!

I can't say that it's terrible but I can say that it's similar to the iPhone 7 on iOS 11 or the Pixel 2. With how I use my phone, it's a disappointment so I don't know if I should keep it or not.

Good luck with that. If battery life is a problem for you, that's tough. Some phones needs time to settle, but if you know your usage patterns well, you know what's good, a dud, and what you can tolerate.

NYC fashion in the summertime...always an adventure. You see people wear some **** and when you look in their direction, they get upset for you looking.

I mean, I'm all for empowerment and freedom of expression; I just think there are people who wear certain things for shock value and reactions. SMH.

It's impressive. I may S-OFF the project phone, but that's about it. I used to enjoy rooting, but these days I don't get as much benefits as I used to.

I can get that since you have done it a lot over the years. I can't help but wonder how someone came up with this idea!

Thank you for the luck. I'll need it. You're right, I do know my usage patterns. Actually come to think of it, I have been using all of the same apps on the XZ1C when I had it and even in those beginning days, battery life was great. I feel like it's more of a slap in the face that it's like my iPhone.

I feel that I'll probably have to debate if it is worth it in the name of performance but it might not be for me. Aside from that, I have also been having playback issues with continuous stopping (I "fixed" it with not allowing the apps to be battery optimized) but this is something I have never had to deal with. I don't think it's worth it but I'll see if I can give it 1 to 2 more days.

High tech computer phones were the foundation of XDA. Once MSFT isolated some of the tech devs with WP7, they migrated to Android to continue the past time.

You always needed to S-OFF that OEM's phones. Ironically, I picked up the T-Mobile unlocked model, the last flagship high tech sold with T-Mobile. I should have WiFi calling and may fully root to remove any leftover bloat I don't like.

I like the compromises LG did for the V35 Pool cue. If I were a carrier person and on AT&T and didn't care about updates, I'd certainly get one.

Well, looking forward to access to a good 3.5mm jack again.

It's always interesting the dance of technology...device makers want us to develop emotional attachments to products to ensure popularity. But because of the need to constantly sell products, of a product gets too popular, the balancing act becomes how to build the brand by keeping people Happ with current products and get them excited for future models.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

@worldspy99, those are great pictures. That had to have been a fun day.
Thanks Laura!
It was a fun day.
We didn't get a chance to do a couple of things, so we're going to go back again. Hopefully more good pictures from that visit.

Also we want to go to the Getty Villa and that's right by the ocean in Malibu so that should be interesting as well.

Today is a low impact day. Gonna do that beer pork butt and let it cook for a few hours. Need to reduce that sauce correctly this time.

I used a Heineken the last time and I'm tempted to use a Guinness instead. Gonna throw some baby carrots, thyme and shallots in it.
