WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

It's hard to tell from the picture but there's 8 rows of mounds for growing trees already there. The first row has straw on it. The rest still need it. We plan to put straw then agriculture plastic on top. This will help the soil become better.

The French have a great sense of humour, they're just really blunt people.
Yup, sounds like you fit right in on the humor front. .

It's a little hard to see some of those details, so thanks for point that stuff out.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Outside of the few fights and that one stabbing, it seems to have been a tepid Black Friday this year on the hooligan type behavior front.

It's about time, to be honest. There's a lot more other **** happening in the world to be up in arms about.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I have some, hard to modify variables, that may make owning French property off my list. Still, with the lunacy of we-all-know-who in 1600 Penn Ave, I keep coming back to the idea of where the he'll am I going to live when I get either tired of or priced out of NYC.
Every big city in the world has gotten ridiculous for house prices.

Rich people buying everything for investment purposes.

So many homes empty a lot of the time because of this.

There isn't really a housing crisis, just a shortage due to investors. Property is big money these days.

Well, finances aside, I have to be careful where I look for other reasons. The road to the new middle class is filled with crazy obstacles. Sometimes I wonder if I will fully get there. It's still early days yet, so I'll keep at it.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I hope in five years time things will be different. We just passed our first year here yesterday. Long way to go...

Wow that it's been a year already! How does it feel? It seems like a lot happened in this first year from what I remember.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Oh, I'd love a removable battery too. Back in the days, I used to always rock a spare...don't get me started on that. Lol.

I believe it. Oops I didn't mean to take you there. What I meant by that is that is something that is essentially impossible to find in a flagship phone in 2018.

Nothing to be sorry about. I cried myself to sleep over that the moment I sold my V20.

I get where you were coming from though, so it's all good.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I suppose I could do a long term Pixel 2 review.

7 months in:

High points:

1) Camera is good.
2) Software support is good.
3) 16:9 is good.
4) Screen quality is good.
5) Stereo speakers are nice.
6) Size is good.
7) Battery in terms of standby time and drain is good.

Low points:

1) Build quality is so-so. I slapped a good case on it and things go tolerable.

2) Battery life is garbage for my uses.

3) Media volume is too low for my tastes
4) Audio experience is uninspired and uninteresting.

5) 64GB non expandable doesn't cut it in 2018. Storage management feels like some millennial girl deciding whether or not she wants to wear any underwear with her favorite boy chasing super skinny fitted jeans. I'm down to 17GB with careful management so far.

I'd enjoy this more if the battery was better and it was a 128GB model. As great as the camera is, the rest is very not worth the premium Google is charging.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I'm think of getting a 256GB card tomorrow for $45. Now I'm deciding on what device I use it with.

I do like the Project Fi G7 for $350. That's semi interesting. When I'm out tomorrow I'll hold a G7 again...that phone I like but man it is taller than I needed.

As much as I like the V35, what is being asked for it makes no sense price wise. As much as I like the V30/V35 design, I'm not downgrading a XZ2 for a V30.

At this point I'm just browsing.

I was watching a Livestream yesterday and the talk of HTC came up which made me sad. It's so cutthroat now that if OEMs aren't clear in what message they have to consumers, they'll get lost in the shuffle. I would have tried a U12+, but the 10 was the last interesting purely HTC device that caught my eye (I'm looking forward to restoring the project one I have).

Even Apple isn't immune, based on the 2018 hardware sales.

Having done this, I'll do the Mi Mix 2 one:

Highlight:

1) Build quality: love it. Xiaomi did a great job and it's one of my all time favorite glass phones.

2) Stereo speakers are good.

3) Audio is better than the Pixel 2, even when comparing dongles.

4) Dual SIM with LTE in both slots.

5) Good enough battery life. Charges up very quickly (so does the Pixel 2).

6) Solid camera. Better than what people expected.

7) Quality 1080P screen.

Low lights:

1) Same comment about the storage for the Pixel 2 applies here.

2) No water resistance.

3) While I love the build, it reminds me too much of the Xperia Z3 in how angular it is. Xiaomi did a nice job of softening up the design, I think something like the Mate 10 Pro hits the spot as a good medium for me between the Mi Mix 2 and XZ2 for in hand feel. Mate 10 Pro has a gentler curve that sits better in my hand and isn't neither as portly and narrow as the XZ2 nor as flat and wide as the Mi Mix 2.

If I didn't want water resistance and a few other niggles, I could have easily used this as my daily driver.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

It's been good pulling out the old blackberry keyboard. It has forced me to type a little slower and focus on what I'm typing to reduce the spelling errors. It also helps with a comparatively less aggressive autocorrect.

More importantly, it was nice to see the old blackberry manager again. It's tempting me to use a few more of their apps, but we will see.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So far, no complaints with the Mi Pad 4. The Chinese rom kinda messes up a few features but I'm using a tablet that wasn't designed to leave China.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Looks like the latest Windows update may have messed up the GF's computer...this is one headache I didn't need. SMH.
