I'm curious to see what LG will do with their version of the 9.0 update. I thi k that if some of the battery saver tricks are implemented correctly, the G7, V35 and V40 may run a bit better. I do think that there will be improvements that are notable from 8.0 to 9.0.

Putting up some new blinds. The old ones were older than young Methuselah. Gonna have to Jerry rig it to get them to work.

The issue is that there is no new place to drill new holes and the mounting parts are two holes short (two on one side, one on the other). So it'll be slightly imbalanced weight wise, but not terrible.

So I'm never a fan of the ATM at the Chase Bank by the GF. The lines are always long and the machines act funny.

I had to go there today. Sure enough, the lines were longer than usual as 1 machine was out, one wasn't dispensing cash (there are 3 in total). Now, this is a Caribbean neighborhood, with a strong melanin content. As people are waiting in line, this mid fifties white guy walks in and makes a beeline to the ATM that wasn't. Someone calls him out for bypassing the line, and of course he gets into an argument with the girl who called him out.

"Of course I saw everyone was waiting for cash so I cut the line. I'm smart, that's how I get ahead." He says while getting more defensive.

"It's about the principle of the thing," the girl shot back. "You just bypassed people without asking. That was rude."

This is an example of doing the right thing in the incorrect manner. He was right to go for the machine. He was incorrect by not asking while skipping the whole line, especially in a situation where everyone in the space had melanin except him. There are countless versions of this sort of micro aggression and privileges mindless behavior at work.

Currently, to me this was another microcosm of why 'Murcia is where it is now - chasing greatness it never truly had by stepping over others that don't fit the narrative.

I've gone very, very clean on the 8. Barely any apps at all - not even the banking ones I typically use. It does feel really nice running this lean though. I'm using Niagara launcher beta on this instead of Nova and it really works. It somewhat reminds me of the old Nokia Z launcher that was in beta for eons. I understand why they didn't continue working on it but it would have been nice to see that as the overlay here instead of their pseudo Pixel launcher.

I see the Pats won. Guess it was defensive purists' game.

Kinda serves the NFL. To be honest, the sport in my opinion is starting to be in decline. Don't think they have done enough for player safety. While the rewards are tremendous, the risks are also just has high in some cases. I'll never get the image of an older Earl Campbell walking around during an interview - he was literally busted up and creeped along.

I don't watch it as much as I used to. The thrill is gone now, I guess...

The 8 has been just good enough. It'll make a great back up phone for me. I always like AOSP for performance, but needed a touch more features. I suppose in theory that makes me a Oneplus candidate, but the only one I'd use from them since the OPO and OPX was the 6. The OP3 was were they grew up for sure. The 6T McLaren is cool though.

I may pick up one of their USB-C Bullets though at some point.

The NFL has always been more interesting when some of the older teams - Redskins, Chiefs, Cowboys, Browns, Giants, Rams, Raiders, Dolphins are good teams.

At the end of the day, I just think the sport has gotten to a point where the shine of it has really been stripped away.

I agree. This constant winning by New England has become boring to me. Even Pittsburgh and San Francisco didn't win so often in their heydays.
